Gilbert is a catcher and is a damn good one. Also agree mac should have been drafted but don’t throw gilbert under the bus when he doesn’t even play 3rd

Not sure about the thread title as Gilbert deserved to be drafted.

Macnamee is a puzzler though. I am wondering if it was an honest mistake . Meaning a team or two was looking to draft him and maybe they thought he had been taken and scratched his name out on their list. With 40 rounds I can easily see some players falling through the cracks along way.

In any case, he no doubt will get an opportunity with someone somewhere. He is too good not to.

Not hating on Gilbert just he had a ton of errors but I know 3rd isn’t his normal position.

I’m just surprised with the errors that didn’t hurt him from being drafted but Mac has a lot of power and played fine in the field but went undrafted. Was he punished for a minor injury?

Thats my guess. Errors don’t really hurt gilbert because he is a catcher. Other than hitting, defensively they aren’t really watching him. Except for the cannon he has elijah will find a way to make it on a big league roster
