yep, until the end of the season.

It seems as if the Yankees were holding firm on the same amount as the qualifying offer from the Astros which would have been just over 11 million for the rest of the season.

I like it. I’m guessing the recent Folty and Gausman implosions played a part in signing him. Good get.

Gausman, in particular. Keuchel makes his first start for Gwinnett tomorrow

If this comes true I will eat an entire blooper burger. Book it!

How much would it cost us to get MadBum, or should I say which prospects would it cost? Giants need a talent infusion. CMargo and Ender possibly?

Camargo, Weigel, Wilson. He won't be cheap.

I think the Giants are interested in as quick of a rebuild as possible. They need outfielders, so it wouldn't surprise me if we give them someone who can step in immediately along with one of our top pitching prospects. I don't think we'd have to give up two top prospects to get him as a rental.

I'd do this in a heartbeat. I like Weigel but am not as high on Wilson as some.
I could see an Ender, Camargo, Weigel type deal getting it done too. They get a future arm plus OF and lineup depth additions.

final thought on the subject...
if we make the playoffs again, you obviously have to roll through LA to get anywhere. Give me Keuchel, MadBum, and Fried as a 1-2-3 lefty punch against those LH hitters in LA all day, every day. Throw in Soroka and now you're cooking.
If you look at their team stats, their slugging drops significantly against LH pitchers, especially the LH starters. Not only that, but they tend to sit their LH hitters against LH pitchers, and their RH hitters actually perform worse against LH pitchers than their LH bats do!
Stacking up a bunch of lefty pitchers is the most obvious way to help contain that ridiculous offense and helps to get as close to a level playing field as you can hope for against a team like that.

Well said, and it was the obvious deficiency last year in the wildcard series. All I wanted the braves to do in the offseason was add one or two starters of playoff caliber and shore up the bullpen. Granted, it wasn't a wide open market.

Gausman to the BP is so necessary RN. 6.2 ERA is the worst of his career. Hopefully the change of pace will help him out and sure up the relief.
