Auburn RB Shaun Shivers announces new jersey number for 2019 season

quote:

The Auburn Tigers wasted no time working freshman RB Shaun Shivers into the mix last year, giving him 70 carries over 13 games.

He turned those carries into 371 yards and three touchdowns, and should have an even bigger role for the Tiger offense this fall.

He’ll be doing it in a different jersey number, though, as he announced on Wednesday that he was switching from No. 25 to No. 8 for the rest of his Auburn career:

DT Coynis Miller Jr., a fellow sophomore, also wears the No. 8 jersey, but Shivers will be the only Auburn offensive player to wear it.

Now, we’ll see if the No. 8 jersey leads to more success for the speedy sophomore running back.

Remember this when the offseason comes where you're afraid to check the news

Out of all of those guys, Antonio Goodwin is the only one still in prison, correct?

Yes. He got fricked hard by going to trial. The other 3 took a plea deal.

The only plea deal he was supposedly offered was 21 years according to the AL dot com article that reported his sentencing hearing. Going to trial actually reduced his sentence

Didn't know that. I think Goodwin was the one that actually had the gun.

I’m sure he wishes he could take that mistake back

He’s not actually in prison. I looked a while back and he’s in some sort of community work program.

The other guys are out but I think they have to serve the remaining time if they’re convicted of anything else in that remaining 9 years of the split sentence.

I went down a rabbit hole one night
