Wear old English village emblems or Scottish tartan if you want I guess. Personally, I'm American and I don't give 2 fricks about the smattering of European nations my great old ancestors migrated from. Hell, certain Americans talk about and show up their Scottish/Irish heritage so often it makes me want to vomit.
And no, I don't think anyone would give two shites if someone wore something honoring the Scots or Catalonia or some old city state in Northern Italy. Now, if your argument is they'd be mad if someone wore something honoring the specific governments of Hitler or Mussolini...........Yes they would. Pretty sure they'd be in the right there too.
