So the BOT are busy tripping over their dicks in an effort to make the back up plans know they are back up plans, back up plans who don't like being back up plans.

Got it.

I'm sure the guys demanding Beard to be made to say "no" see him as the next Sutton.

Go find the next Nolan.

Several coaches have taken Arkansas the final four.

Several have put an unentertaining product on the court.

Only one has won a legitimate national championship in the big 3 sports, although if Neighbors can recruit he has a chance.

He's 100% proven as a coach including at the college level

i mean, he's proven he IS a coach, but lets not act like having a long career bouncing and coaching the Venezuelan national team is moving anyones needle.

hes basically being evaluated and considered for the job on 4 years at Nevada, where he did a great job. what we don't know is how he handles roster management over time, how he deals with re-builds, how he sustains a program, ect... those are too many unknowns to say hes "proven," especially compared to guys like Sampson and Marshall. hell, marshall is about the same age and has been a head coach since 98. Musselman has nevada and a few years of NBA head coaching 13 yrs ago. he has less college head coaching experience than Beard, who's 10 years younger.

proven should mean you know what you're getting, and we dont with musselman. that said, i do think he'd a be good hire, but i think he carries significant risk.

Using this logic Chris Beard isn't a proven coach either. He's never had a HC position more than 3 years.

I wouldnt say thats an unreasonable position either. But hes been a head coach in college nearly twice as long as musselman.

But Beard has a very high level of success across two programs in a very short amount of time. That certainly adds up.
