IMO the decision to suspend Wade and sit Smart is coming not from Alleva (like many LSU fans think), but rather our compliance office.

Will Wade is lawyered up and has been since midway through the season. They are currently ratcheting up the pressure on LSU's compliance office. There is no ongoing NCAA investigation, and he is not the subject of the FBI investigation.

Wade will be reinstated by the time the NCAA tournament begins.
Can't say the same for Smart -- poor kid will probably never play for LSU again.

It's not unreasonable to think CWW has actually already met with the LSU Admin (with his attorney present) to basically inform them that he can't discuss the particulars of the case.

That's the thing. There is no case. Wade is not the subject of the FBI investigation, and, at least for now, there is no NCAA investigation.

Let the Coach coach and the players play. If they're actually guilty of what's suggested in the wiretap the entire year gets wiped out whether they play or not so sitting them out makes no sense.

I agree with this

The reason is his attorney advised against it. He was subpoenaed for a federal court case. If he speaks with Alleva and FKing about anything regarding that case then the Federal Court will directly subpoena LSU University. He's doing Alleva a solid....and Alleva is using the situation to not pay his bonus and walk him out the door. If WW goes Alleva goes in my opinion...LSU is done with his AD bullshyt

LSU fans may be done with Alleva, but obviously the LSU Administration & Compliance aren't.

At this point, there is virtually no chance Will Wade comes back to coach LSU.

Smart is likely finished for the year.

That's a reality

Even if Alleva is thereafter subpoenaed and asked what Wade said at their meeting, he can’t speak on it as it would be hearsay and doesn’t fall under any hearsay exception. Were Wade a party to the case, it would meet an exception, but he’s not. The reason Wade won’t take the meeting is very likely because he doesn’t want to give Alleva grounds to fire him for cause. Wade has a family to think about and isn’t going to give his boss reason to fire him and walk away from the money left on his contract without a fight. LSU fans don’t want to hear this but it’s the truth.

My best guess is Wade and his attorneys are working out a buyout for Wade to resign. But I guess we shall see.

Right...he eventually gets off and tells LSU to go pound shite for not having his back and probably takes Carolina on another dynastic run.

BS...there is no proof he knew about, much less accepted, any "offer".

This kind of thinking is so stupid. Will Wade knows he screwed up. It’s not LSU’s fault he was an idiot. And if he has the same lack of self awareness so many on Tiger droppings do, he’s not going to do himself any favors. No one is going to be beating his doors down anytime soon for a HC job, so his best play is hoping he can stay at LSU. He has no reason at all to feel he’s being treated unfairly at the present moment.

Super good point. That’s why Wade told us what he meant when he said “offer.”

Yes. No one understands.

My only explanation is that a lot more people than Smart got paid so LSU is going for broke. Either let Smart play or not field a team.

Or they could be halving the baby to keep the idiotic fan base happy.

Or they could be just legitimately stupid.

I would be surprised to see Smart on the floor next year for LSU. He’ll probably be De Sousaed.

This was fun.

quote:

1. Smart is reinstated on Tuesday.
2. Will Wade is reinstated on May 1, 2019, with a reprimand from LSU.
3. YahooSports reports are not evidence of wrongdoing.
4. Those tapes will never be made public in a way that we can all trust is accurate. As in the first legal proceedings, they and the so-called transcripts are not admissible as evidence in the legal case

This guy must has sauces.

IMHO, Wade will never coach again at LSU. It would not shock me at this moment his lawyer and agent are working on a buyout.

IMHO, Smart will be sitting out...will not play in the SEC or NCAAs.

Lmao you couldn't have been more wrong.
