I made the comment last week that we were not getting better but playing worse. All those big games we got moral victories in were early in the season.

The later pare of this season has sucked all out. We are not getting better but worse. The team is still ver disorganized, not playing with any heart and look like 5 guys and a ball.

IF you are looking for this team to stand up and do something great all the sudden, I think you are going to be disappointed. They may beat someone they shouldn't but overall they are done

And 5 years may not be long enough to build a dynasty but it is long enough to construct a team and win games you should win. This team cant beat anyone good on any consistent basis

You said that the BBall team should be beating teams that they should beat but make up arbitrary shite like how many wins vs the #1 ranked school to defend Gus

Why do you feel the two things have any thing to do with one another? Yes the basketball team has been somewhat of a disappointment this year and yes they have lost to every good team they have played for the most part.

But the has jack shite to do with the question I asked. There is another post on here about who is the best coach Auburn has and in that thread there were comments about each coaches accomplishments. That raised the question to me that I asked.

Sorry you got your feelings hurt by me in the Bruce Pearl discussion. I am a huge fan. But in reality, he has not delivered so far this year and that is just a fact. It doesnt mean I want him fired, it doesn't mean I think Gus is a damn better coach. Thats the difference in me and some of you clowns who are ready to fire coaches like they change their underwear.

Dont be such a sensitive little girl about everything everyone here posts that does not blow sunshine up your arse

Bruce is a great coach and a fantastic hire. He will also get our team better. But so far this year, the team has underachieved and that is pretty easy to see.

Ironically the amount of wins over number one ranked teams has jack shite to do with being a better coach. I just dont understand the arbitrary bullshite superlatives we give coaches to defend them. I don't want Gus Fired but to sit here and act like its an accomplishment to beat a number 1 team 3 times is stupid. You can beat the number one team 8 times in a row and finish 8-5. You still finished 8-5.

FWIW I think the people who make up dumbass excuses to get rid of Gus are just as bad. The people who bitch because we didn't land 25 5 stars trigger me to no end

The best form of flattery. I’m blushing.
As for Bruce’s team. Our goals (minus sec reg) are still there to be attained despite not having a healthy Wiley most of the year, and despite his hands being tied in recruiting last year. Our deficiencies are there and Bruce coaches with what we has. There were years when Gus lost expected key players due to his discipline or injury, and I brushed off the subsequent disappointment to bad luck and learning seasons. I can’t do that EVERY year when Gus is still just as god damn unprepared as the previous one.

So, If sweeping our rivals and a projected 6-8 seed in tbe NCAAt are underachieving, hallelujah. Helluva big difference between that and 8-5 most years and constantly having to lubricate our anuses before we play our rivals.

Trigger them more; tell them to take a gander at our gigantic list of 3* offers.

Yea, it's not like Gus was on the sidelines the only two times that Auburn has played a game where the winner is the national champ.

And I at no point said it did or tried to convey that. You just assumed that instead of answering the question asked

Nobody did that either. I did not defend him over winning those games. It was years ago and doesnt mean anything now. It was merely a question

I totally agree. Im not sure what point you are arguing. It was merely a question. Other than Oregon and Florida, I could not remember when we beat a #1 or #2 team in the past 25 years.

Recruiting is part of the coaches job. Just like winning games. It all should be considered when replacing a coaching staff. Auburn will not compete with the Alabamas and Georgias of the world in recruiting from year to year due to the pure premise of the school. But once again, you and a few others turned a basic question into a "frick you for defending Gus"thread.

Did Tubberville do it?

Tubberville did have a undefeated season, so did Terry Bowden and Gene Chizik. What does Gus do, he shits the bed 2-4 games a year and loses another 2-3 games.

To be fair, with Saban-era Bama in flight, he gets a lot more chances.

For most of Tub's tenure, #1 team was USC, Miami or OSU.

The last time a #1 team came into JHS and won was 1982-UGA. That was before the east upper deck was built and capacity was around 72,000.

Not sure but the SEC didn’t have a bunch of number one teams during Tubs tenure, if I remember correctly.
