is there a female coach? didnt see that, understand there is a female who was providing review for one of the games?...
I watched the Iron play on tv, nice to see some of the Bama guys who washed out/didnt make the league get another chance.
Kept telling my wife that they had only been together for a month and many had been out of football for a good minute; but as you would expect the play was a bit sloppy and wife pointed out, it looked like one of the lesser known all star games when they only have a week to practice.

Hoping for a better product by end of season, but understand that the tv ratings tied the NBA. I will continue to watch just to see the Bama players. (hoping BigHero6 gets some QB play)

if the AAF commits to being the de facto NFL minor league I think they can make it, at least for a while.

I just hope they don't expand to give each team their own AAF team to the point it dilutes the product. The play was sloppy enough already in the games I watched this weekend.

Yeah, the assistant d-line coach.

Pretty good description.

I was really impressed with the league honestly. This would have great attendance in a downtown stadium if they stay competitive.

If this league becomes viable doesn't it line up well for someone like Jalen Hurts or Kelly Bryant? 4th year transfer or go make 250k and play against better talent if you are good enough?

This is a great opportunity for those guys who can't keep their grades up or keep failing drug tests for weed.

I think you'll see the AAFL cannabalize the XFL and the west coast league is doomed anyways. a 16 team AAFL with NFL has beens, one offs, and up and comers is something I would definitely watch in the off season. They have great name recognition and some good coaches, the big question is do they have a solid enough infrastructure to pull some big sponsors and get good TV rights.

AAFL's TV contract already makes it more attractive than those other 2 leagues. Good opening weekend ratings will bring more advertising dollars, so they just need to sustain that and draw more fans to the stadiums.

Actually watched on TV this time

This team comes alive in the 4th. They had a lot of breaks go their way, but they're built to really slug it out.

And this is after having 3 defenders get injured on defense in the game and a 4th(Josh Frazier) miss the entirety.

The story on the QB is wild, he had never played QB(or varsity football) in his life before. Learned how to play it from Youtube, and went from 9th string QB at Southwestern to winning the Harland Trophy at A&M-Commerce.

Trent looks solid. Clearly a step slower than he used to be but when he’s able to get in open space he looks good. Problem is the irons offensive line is pretty poor. Couldn’t pass protect or run block at all

Always kinda been Trent, if you can scheme him open he can pick up yards. Reduces decisionmaking and let's him get momentum.

I'm hoping the OL just needs time to gel, as most of them in the AAF have struggled.

It’s $250k over 3 years, so $83k annually + bonuses, but yes your point is the same.

I really like Birmingham's QB. Nothing flashy, but a solid player
