Is it AAF the same or different football league?
I was told AAF is like a minor league and not going to be like the NFL.

The XFL is going to compete for the college players but I do not know how they will do it to make it work for both NFL and XFL. XFL is going to start after NFL completes it season.
So another football league is good for other college football players that can play at a different league. At lease I hope this will bring in more recruits to Mizzou? To show Missouri is better and can support more than 1 pro football teams.
Lets go Mizzou!

AAF is the lesser, XFL is there to be the next NFL.

This will have no impact on recruiting for mizzou.

How long does either league last? 5 years? Tops?

And I agree. Has absolutely no impact on Mizzou's recruiting.

Theres one big difference between not and when the XFL first tried that could be a major key. When they first tried what, 9 years ago(?), the NFL had a very faithful fan base. Now, most fans watch because theres no other pro football, but fans for the most part arent happy with the current state of the NFL.

That being said, one has to go. I think one remain for a while of the AAF and XFL, and I think its the XFL. XFL will have better players thus better quality. XFL will also have more money. Last, the policies the XFL has in place addresses the issues that pisses the NFL fans off.

You might be right but I promise you I heard the same exact arguments when they tried it the first time.

Right, nobody will give a shite about the XFL just like the first go around. People underestimate the ingrained levels of fandom.

I actually think the AAF has a better chance of carving out a niche based on the way they construct their rosters. For instance, all former Mizzou players will be on the Birmingham Iron. It will have a built in vested interest for fans

theres still a lot of unearned fandom. plenty of football lovers with no loyal team, more so than the first go around.

me and 10 people I know have already put down a deposit for the STL team next year. Lets go!

Sounds low, but i knew less poeple with Season tickets to the rams.

the AAF will be an NFL development league. The NFL needs this badly. I don't see it going anywhere.

XFL will only survive if it stays away from the gimmicks. People are starved for pro football alternatives but not because they don't like the play of the NFL. They just want a no frill, real professional league without the drama and stupid NFL rules.

XFL is bring back football fans that stopped watch the NFL. Also it will motivates teenagers to get back into football. This does make St. Louis look attractive for recruits. It is building back the good old days of pro football in St. Louis. This is what SEC conference wants too! It makes Mizzou look better as a member of the SEC to have two pro football teams in the State of Missouri.
