That's about where we should be regardless of coach similar to football.
I somewhat disagree. This small arse state produces a shite ton of basketball talent. A coach that could have locked down our borders would have much better classes to show than Mike does the past few years.

I really doubt it. We keep most of the top guys in state and always have. Will always be the exception like a Malik Monk who gets steered elsewhere by family and not coach related.

Ironically of the 4 stars on ESPN and Rivals they're the ones carrying us a lot too. Joe and Simpson were 4 stars on both and Chaney was on ESPN.

His 2018 class is probably his best class here. Certainly at least through 1 season.

Composite is composite. The former Scout basketball staff merged with 247 when the bankruptcy went through.

Our state produces basketball players and we should only need a few a year but Mike’s problem is we are never in it for top 50 players regionally (Dallas, Memphis) or nationally.

Top 25-50 players are where a program becomes relevant in the tournament not 150-250.

I don't use 247 really at all for basketball. Still the worst of the major 3 hence the last class being significantly higher on those 2 and the players as well.

We recruit about where we should most years, similar to football and it isn't coaching related.

Mike Recruiting at Arkansas

Currently- #14 in SEC; #131 in Nation

2018 - #8 in SEC; #38 in Nation

2017 - #8 in SEC; #36 in Nation

2016 - #5 in SEC; #29 in Nation

2015 - #14 in SEC; #101 in Nation

2014 - #9 in SEC; #43 in Nation

2013 - #4 in SEC; #19 in Nation

2012 - #9 in SEC; #46 in Nation

So he is getting worse at recruting.

I appreciate the replies and the maturity in this thread. This place gives hope that it is far from hogville.

However, we will continue to get worse if we do not recruit better. I get that Mike brings players in and he coaches them up, but he is being paid to recruit as well.

I also understand there are fans who appreciate Mike for what he has done and what he does do, but we are starting to fall even further away, and traditionally bad teams are outperforming us.

We might like to toot our horns about beating LSU - which was a great win - but remember that its LSU and SEC play. The thing that matters for Mike is to win the conference and out perform others with big goals in the post season.

The team has made great strides this year and has been impressive as the team gets more games under their belt, but that, In my opinon, isnt good enough. If we are going to act like a Blue Blood, or a basketball school, we need to be getting the best players out there and not settling for where we're at.

Again, thanks for the discussion and I value all of your opinons

Eh, I believe that of the top 6 recruits since Mike has been here from Arkansas. He has only manged to grab 3 of them. I believe that should be better. Obviously, you can't get them all.
