I joined whenever Cockytalk went down the first time, but honestly don't come around often because there ain't much going on around here.
It's very telling that the most active and longest thread on here is a thread about another website.

This. The team boards are generally for people that want to talk about a team or an issue without immediately getting a minimum of 5 troll posts. Our team board in particular also lets us talk about SC sports without the Rant trolls but also without the sunshine pumping about any of our teams or programs that seems to be a requirement on other Cock boards.

The rant isn't just "troll" it's great banter without the snowflakes that cry in smack.
"HOW COME ALL THESE FANS ARE HERE ON OUR BOARD"
Maybe it's just me, but gimme smack with other fans, not the same fans sitting around playing gookie cookie.

You probably should have started further down the totem pole. Going against Lord Spurticus,out of the gate, was a fatal strategic move.

I mean I say it here and don't get banned (not mods or maybe they are but the "longer running posters"). So it's good.

I'm too ADHD to scan through the Rant. I tried but there is too much about other teams. I only have a few minutes scattered throughout to keep up with my own team.
As far as Spurticus, he's the epitome of "Get off my damned lawn" moderator.
I've been banned a few times by him. Once, and I still stand by this, is that Wesley Saunders is a douche bag. The other times I never got an explanation other than I stepped out of the company line.
Maybe it'll get more active around here on the Gamecock news front, which is really what I enjoy.

It does pick up in spurts. I know how you feel. On CT the information, may be true or not, comes at a rapid pace compared to here and the wait can frustrate you. The information here, i have found, tends to be more solid and factual. Theses guys have learned who to listen to or to ignore .
I've also learned that the education avg per poster is higher on this board and switching from ct to here can cause you to interpret things wrong.
CT is a larger, more impersonal, Gamecock sports forum where this board is like dropping in the neighborhood " Cheers". You may argue about the color of the new space station before talking about the Gamecocks over here but everyone knows your name.
One last thing these people over here have a fierce loyalty to each other and have a tendency to gang up on you. It's not for the faint of heart.

more senior members/regular posters will gang up everywhere.

Uhhhh I agree with everything you said but that.
I think CT is the same.
certain members given more leeway because of who they are.
SirBigSpur can't say Wes is a douche but others can.

Well I'm certainly not one of those posters that get more leeway. You have to be tight with the "in crowd "for that.
There are times I probably crossed the line but never got clipped. Not sure why...
