There are 5 of us and we bit the bullet and went with a Suburban. We do a lot of travel ball and such and needed the cargo space. Also makes it easy for the kids to bring along a friend or 2. Before that we had a Honda Osyssey and it was a good vehicle as well. I like the added feeling of safety in a large SUV though.

There was a family of 6 of us and we had Suburbans growing up and they worked great. A friend of mine has a family of 5 and has an Expedition EL. He likes it. He’s driven them since they came out in 2007 and has put over 200,000 miles on the ones he’s driven.

We opted for the Tahoe, and really wish we had gone with the Suburban. That extra space is nice if you have a growing family.

We just got an Expedition and love it. We test drove the Expedition and Tahoe, liked the 3rd row and features of the Expedition better. We ended up with an XLT version with the premium packages (leather, heated/cooled seats, nav, etc..)

They offer the Expedition (Tahoe size) and Expedition Max (Suburban size).

Yeah Tahoe’s look better than a Burb IMO (less Titanic-ish) but the storage space isn’t much better than a minivan. My sis-in-law keeps a cargo carrier hitched to her Tahoe with a Rubbermade container for storage. I didn’t want that hassle.

Wife wanted an SUV...happened to see a Chrysler Pacifica. Loves it

Eta. We just did 30 hrs round trip over Christmas...great. Right at 30mph filled in poplar bluff Mo and made it to Mobile on a tank. Stow/ go seats (i used the wells for the middle seats to hide gifts from the kids - 2) split row middle seats are great. Don't worry about the stigma about vans. Im glad we got it.

My wife bought a traverse I like the middle captains chairs so the kids can walk through without folding the seats down to get back to the third row. She actually got rear ended by a 1 ton silverado at 70mph and only put a dent in the hatch and some scratches in the plastic bumper cover. My only complaint is the cargo space for long trips it gets pretty tight with all the luggage.

Recommend the Suburban.

Our family of 5, a 1999 Chevy Suburban, 18 yrs of use and 240,000 miles. And when is time, you're not so upset if it got a little dirty or dinged.

Yeah-I’m gonna call bullshite on this. Maybe if they were both going about 70mph when the accident occurred.

Wife and I originally wanted a SUV but ended up with a rental van for a weekend and took it for a small road trip. We ended up with a Town and Country.

That’s all my sister and sister-in-law drive and they have 4 in each family. I suspect my wife will want to keep up with the Jones’s if we have a second child.

I just traded in a Yukon Denali for an F150 with a 5.0 and I already miss the 6.2. That is one fine engine.
