He hasn't been playing the game long enough to be an accomplished post player. This is like his fourth year playing. Asking Mike to turn someone that raw into Hakeem Olajuwon is unreasonable. But you know that.

He may not have the best post moves, but he can still be very useful. And he will, in fact, develop here.

Florida is a good basketball program.

Thanks for the recap, Captain Obvious.

9 points from Gafford against a small lineup.

Yeah, but it isn't all on just him. He needs to be more demanding at times but we have some very poor entry passes to him as well. We also have got to get better when they are trying to deny the ball that hard or even doubling.

Of course not, but when you're a projected top 10 pick and spent your freshman year as a man amongst boys type of player that completely dominated and took over games, you can't have this HUGE of a sophomore slump.

All of this is true, I'll also add that our offense doesn't enable Gafford in any way. The entry passes are bad because they're forced. We never run anything for Gafford.

We had guys last season that could get to the basket. We only have Harris this season and nobody is helping off on him because he can't shoot

Some of that has to do with adjustments teams are making this year. I'm not defending his play, just see a bunch of piss poor play around him as well.

There's no doubt that the offense as a whole is piss poor. Florida has a good defense, but this is not the only game we've started and sustained seriously long scoring droughts putting us in huge deficits early.

He's just soft this year. Doesn't have that mentality like he did last year.

Could be a rift with the coaching staff, players, or realized he should have declared last year and is just wanting to stay healthy. Who knows.

Just not the same player.

Exactly, there are too many times we force it when we could get better looks by taking advantage of their over aggressiveness. It is so obvious when we are trying to do it and we play right into the defense. Also have to hit down open shots when Gafford kicks it back out after a double. We got to get better at that as well.

Mason Jones does a pretty good job of getting to the rack. I mean, it's the entire reason we were able to keep that respectable.

Mason Jones played a hell of a game tonight. He's a leader. Everyone else was playing like shite, but he damn near won the game anyways. By himself.

Yes, our offense has been trending down for awhile now. Even when we were playing some of the easy OOC games before conference play started. It is a shame because this is a good defensive team and I don't think that is going to change. I believe the season will be determined by how well the offense can get back to their early season form.

Well, he is going to face some quality bigs from LSU on Saturday. Still time in the year left to rebound.

Also, second game in a row where I think Gabe Osabouein is an unsung hero. He didn't score any points tonight I don't think but he was terrific on the boards once again, drawing offensive fouls, hustling like a mad man.

I like me some Gabe O.
