Exactly how much did we lose?

Now that the euphoria of the bowl game is almost over, I’ve noticed that we’re losing a lot of guys on the defense and the OL to the draft.
Are we going to take a step back next year? I’ll be looking at an 8-4 or a 7-5 season?

Polite hurts, but we do have some young guys who I believe are ready to help pitch in. It wont be a one man replace, gonna take a group effort. The DT we have this year looked impressive from what I saw so he should be in the rotation. Z returning is huge, he,Moon and Carter should form a nice rotation at DE. Plus the Louisville boy if he still comes.
OL will be hit n miss the first few weeks but should jell over the course of the season.
VoSean leaving places a void at LB, but i really like Hopper and Diabate. Hopefully they can push for time early. Straight beasts.
I look for Burney to take the star and for Dean and Stewart to man the safety spots while our corners return healthy. No fly Zone.
At QB, best man wins. Id like to see Jones step up and win the job from Franks based on that he is more of a system fit and the offense is more deadly with a guy who can take a crease and break a 40 plus yard run like Emory can.

Most growth is between year one and two.
Yes we lose players, but we gain experience in the system which is important.
Our QB play should improve enough to make up for some of the loses. The major concern is Oline. Not defense. Defense we will be fine. Reese is the leader and he is back. Zuniga is back. Our corners will be amoung the best in the nation when healthy.
I wouldn't be to worried. This team will be good.

I personally expect 8 wins. Offense should be decent but the defense will take a step back. 2019 should be our year

I'm most worried about outside LB. Like the freshmen coming in but don't know that they'll immediately be able to replace Vosean and there's no clear replacement already on the roster

It's time to start believing guys.
We had a "suspect" defense this year. What happened?
We had a blah Oline to start the year. What happened?
We had no QB? What happened?
We had a soft team. What happened?
Mullen improved every part of this program in year one.
Time to believe that continues. We win the East next year. Screw it. I believe.

I concur. The defense will be BETTER than 2018...trust me on that. Offense all hinges on the OL...but at least we have easier schedule early to get OL gelled. Miamuh in mickeyworld, UK on the road and not quite as good as 2018, UT at home, AU at home without starting QB.
