Rebelsports.boardhost.com is not the same as rebelsports.net

The boardhost group has been active for damn near 20 years. We've moved around a few times so it is a solid group of rebs.

I was never on that one just plain old rebelsports.net before it became rebelgrove. Me and another poster password shared he had rivals I had the scout. I’m sure there are some good rebs on there. I visited once or twice never asked to post though. I think Pank reb was on there at one time.

The group on there, I feel a good camaraderie toward. Some of us have been on there prior to Dave Childers joining Rivals. It was OMSN.com back then. Dave took the DNS hostname to Rivals and pointed it at their site. When he left Rivals, he started a new OMSN.com. He decided to distance himself from Ole Miss when Matt Luke was first named interim HC. He got tired of the losing and random bullshite from the Ole Miss leaders. A couple of us decided to pick up the reins and started rebelsports.boardhost.com with that same group.

OMSN.com

That’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. Long time.

I always wondered where Dave went. I totally get being done listening to the admins. There are many more like him.

I used to post on Nafoom a good bit back in the day under a different screen name. This was when Godfrey posted on there.

I've been a long time Nafoom lurker, and I still check it out a couple times a day. I miss the Godfrey and Rebel Chuck.

I never posted on NAFOOM but used to enjoy lurking on there back when it had more traffic. The “Hey God, it’s me Godfrey” posts were great but a I haven’t been on there in a long while

There's good banter on Nafoom but also a lot of controlling idiots. You know... the kind that tell you what you can and can't post. I like the boardhost board the most. This is probably my second favorite but this board tends to be late to the party with breaking news.

Nafoom is ok if you like discussing grilling/smoking, whether its cold enough outside for a North Face, where to get shorts with very small inseams, and the happenings of EliteDawgs 99% of the time, and 1% of the time discussing Ole Miss sports.

I used to post on the Spirit board back in the early 2000's during the Cutcliffe years under a different handle. The homers over there were nearly unbearable...they would not only cheer for ISIS if they were wearing Ole Miss gear, but would attack you as not being a "good rebel" if you didn't
I have not been back since.
I post occasionally on NAFOOM under a different handle but mostly lurk.
I will never pay to be a part of an Ole Miss board again.
I have listened to Chase and Neil's podcast on occasion and they usually are ok although Neil tries way to hard to not be an Ole Miss fan....IMO

Rivals died for me when they got rid of Dave Childers. I remember when Neal wrote for some paper in Alabama and was always anti- Ole Miss. I just can't follow him at all.

agree on Neil....can't listen to him...again, tries way to hard to prove he isn't an Ole Miss fan constantly....
The best podcast by far is Ben Garrett and Dave Johnson.

Nafoom would be pretty good if it weren’t for EtolnelColonel and his 50 alters he’s had since (pretty sure it’s LongVape these days). He single handily ruins the board.

I got banned from the spirit in like 2010 when I was a student because there was a thread bitching about student attendance at kickoff and I made a post about how if the lines weren’t treated like TSA checkpoints at the airport we would be able to get in on time. Didn’t even say anything controversial.

I've only really used 3 sites: this one, Rivals, and one called SECFanatics. That last one was a small, but really solid collection of SEC fans. It was similar to this site, just on a smaller scale. Met AC over there. I think we both migrated over here around the same time.

This is by far the most level-headed group of OM fans I've found. We can be realistic to the point of pessimism, but I'd rather have that than the sunshine and rainbows that spewed from RebelGrove.

EDIT - forgot I was pretty active on RedCup back around 2012-2014. I forgot my login info and all the writers changed so I quit following.
