As you all know we have a solid group of RBs. I am wondering who y'all think may step up and take the clear #1 spot, if anyone?

Won't be this year, but my money is on Fenwick having the best career of those on campus

Turner and it won’t even be close. He’ll have to earn it because of the depth but scat backs with power tend to thrive in a hurry up system.

By game 2 or 3 he will pull away and be our starter and finish the season with 1300 to 1500 all purpose yards.

That is quite the claim. I’m thinking whoever has the most endurance will be the one to thrive. I’d like to see Dowdle play a full season. The kid runs downhill and could be special if he wasn’t injured so often.

Honestly, I hope none of them separates themselves...

...I hope they all have 1,000+ yard seasons!

Turner

I wasn't on the wagon for him going into last year (was for Dowdle), but as the season progressed he improved. I'm leaning toward Turner as well.

I've been on the AJ train since the kid has been on campus. He runs hard and has spirit. I just hated them trying to pound it between the tackles with him, put him in space and watch him go.

The way he runs sets Rico up for injury. But I think he's the best back we have. Williams had some nice runs, but needs to pass-block better. Turner is almost always productive.

People are sleeping on fenwick cause he is a freshman, he is the best back we have.

I think a couple of the RBs on our roster can become the guy, but it's going to take a couple of games for that person to emerge. Turner has been our most productive back the last 2 years without being #1 in the depth chart, and I think it will continue to be that way until he's done playing. Rico should be our #1 guy, but hasn't played a full season yet. Ty'Son will more likely be on an even shorter leash than he was last season, and I think could end up not getting any PT for some of our games. I'm really interested to see if Boom red shirts Fenwick and/or Valentine this year, and how Denson is utilized in BMac's gameplan.

2018 predictions:
- Dowdle leads us in attempts and rush yards barring injury
- Turner leads us in all purpose yards and RB receptions
- Fenwick becomes the #1 if Rico is injured. He's the most talented RB on our roster
- Denson, Kinlaw, Williams are on the roster for depth

Boom and Bentley (dad) have four games to decide on those two. Gotta love the new rule.

This will be an interesting development.

I'm not sure who will emerge, but I don't think you can necessarily look at who I the best 'back'. If McClendon is true to his word for a faster offense and if there are more 4 wide sets, it'll simply be the back that doesn't screw up. I'd take a lower average per carry with the guy who knows where to line up and pick up a blitz over the RB who can break one every game. However, if McClendon wants more versatility and moves the RB out to the line or tosses more wheel routes, who knows?

I agree with this. Although shouldn't he be close to 100% by the time the season starts? I wanna say he had this injury last Oct/Nov...
