On TBS, some inside guys saying they doubt he'll ever play again for us. Have you heard anything to indicate he's done something else to warrant being gone for good? That would be a tough blow for sure given all the damn chances he's gotten here

I have heard nothing but him coming back in the fall.

Now, with that said, there are starting to be some signs that maybe something is up ... with the signing of all these guards.

Maybe it's just Martin hedging his bets. Maybe he's worried that Felder might let him down again? I dunno. But I promise you, I have heard nothing about him not coming back and my source there is solid. If he's not coming back then it has been kept a tighter secret than a gnat's butt stretched over a #10 washtub.

Still yet, there are these obvious signs. Just looking at the roster and this next class and some of the guys believe we still might sign another guard.

At the same time we've now lost what ... three guards? Holden, Beatty, and who was the other one? I'm forgetting one (been fighting the flu and it's kicking my butt and causing brain hiccups) ... but it's not like we're overloaded with guards.

I dunno.

I may give my guy a call tonight and try to see if anything is up. Last I heard though, Felder is back.

Thanks, is Doumbia the other guy you're thinking of?

If you hear anything, let us know because guys that are usually trusted on there seem to be laying some serious groundwork of him not being back. Thanks for the info as always my man!

Felder is good to go so far. So long as his grades check out and all of his other conditions have been met (he's got some hoops he's gotta jump through but no one is expecting anything bad to happen) he's going to soon be a full member of the team again.

But hey, the folks over there know all about what was put out on TBS ... so do some of the press who pushed the question tonight evidently. Martin's staff are all asking WTF, where did they get that from? I heard Martin wasn't too happy about them throwing that out there like that and everyone is assuming someone got their info crossed-up over something they overheard about Beatty leaving.

Yeah we struggled at the guard position without Felder last season, but we've lost Holden, Myers, Booker, and now Beatty, all guards. So we needed a strong influx of guards back into the program.

Felder looks right now to be the closest thing we got to a true point guard, so hopefully he will be available for next season.

We have Gravett backing him up, and after him all we got is Hinson, who I like but he's more of a small forward than a big guard to me. Beatty would have been an option to handle the ball a bit next season, had he returned. So yep we're hurting at the guard position more than anything.

As it now stands without Beatty, we got 6 returning scholarship players from last season, plus add (hopefully) both Felder and Bowen, making 8, then the 3 we having coming in for this class, gives up 11 scholarship players. We have maximum room for 13, so hopefully we get another "true" PG - no more SGs or PGs - and perhaps one more wing/forward....

Did Beatty do something that forced his exit? No need to be specific, but trying to read between the lines

Hearing consistent chatter from sources who are usually very reliable that Felder is done at Carolina. Not sure what the back story is, tho. If true, our bb program is fuuuuuucked royally considering all we've lost here just in the past week or so.

ETA: I have no idea how accurate this is but I'm hearing that CFM told both Beatty and Felder not to go to 5 points, they did anyway and they got caught. Haven't we had this happen before with the same exact deal?

*Says a silent prayer of thanks for never getting caught raising hell at 5 points*

Not sure if Beatty would’ve ever really panned out how we had hoped, but Felder is a proven commodity that our team desperately needs next year. Sucks that he just couldn’t keep it cool long enough to stay off Martin’s shitlist, if he is in fact out of here.

Our best hope for right now is that Silva and Bowen don’t get the feedback they’re hoping for from the NBA. Even then, Bowen still needs to be cleared by the NCAA soon or else he’ll go G League. I feel somewhat confident in Silva returning, but I’ll be surprised if we maintain Bowen.

Hope TJ Moss is legit. Next year could be a long season.

He did go to Five Points ... heard that today at the baseball game.

Went last weekend.

If that's so, and if he was told not to go, and if he is booted then he's got no one to blame but himself. That is beyond help. You cannot fix stupid.

So we know that he went for sure - confirmed that today. No one seems sure if he was down there on the sidewalks at night our caught in a bar ... but if he was told not to go and he did it anyway - then it's time to write him off.

So I actively sought-after an answer today about Felder at the game ... doesn't sound like a decision has been made yet. But one is coming. Sounded to me like they want to keep him but they are leaving it up to CFM and he hasn't decided yet.

Sounded like there is a push at the top to cut ties.

This is very disappointing to read. Seems like having to sit out last season would have driven the lesson home for Felder, but I guess not.....
