For those who don't know, Grant Hill is a '13 OL signee out of Huntsville who is also a standout in the discuss. He's a 3 time AAU Junior Olympics discus champion and holds the best mark in high school this year.

Looking at his results, I noticed that he ran the 1600 meters in 5:26.65 at a meet 2 weeks ago. While that's not going to win him any races, it's incredible for a 300 lb lineman. Shows he's in great shape and I expect him to report this summer ready to compete.

.994 of a mile.

I find that kinda hard to believe, but if the kid ran the mile in under 5 and 1/2 minutes at his size that is freaky special.

Yeah, I thought maybe it was a different Grant Hill that mistakenly got credited to him on his milesplit profile, but he was at that meet competing in the discuss and shotput and it's not like it's a 4:30 time. Still, most 200 lb dudes would be hard pressed to run 5:26 much less a 300 pounder.

That's pretty insane now that I'm thinking about it.

Yeah, it's definitely possible, but that would be really really impressive. A 300 pound guy running a sub 5 & 1/2 minute mile is more impressive to me than a 300 pound guy benching the gym.

It's totally believable. When I was in the Marines I knew a few 280lb+ guys that could run between 15-22 minute 3 mile runs on the semi annual pft. I always was around 18-21 minutes myself. Not that hard at all when you train for it.

I would counter that by saying that not every 300 lb guy can run a 5:30 mile even if he trains for it. I know many average sized guys who run frequently and can't run sub 5:30.

At any rate, he should be in great shape when he reports this fall.

I didn't mean to sound like they all could; just that it was very doable. No doubt, a very immpressive feat for GH.

Is this legit?

If so this guy isn't getting tired any time soon playing football.

Actually I think it's his younger brother,Grant. They're both named after their father.
