We go on and on about Coach Ray's motivation, then I read this. Coach has to play with players in practice scrimmage
Hats off.
Hats off.

I agree. To see what we are doing with what we are dealing with is impressive.

Man, I really hope this guy can recruit. I am worried about that.

He can recruit fine... have you seen him talk compared to Stans?
The real question is...will Stans' TREMENDOUS booster network around the southeast step up to the plate and get on board with Ray? THAT is what will decide whether or not he has success in recruiting.
At this point, I'm not convinced that he HAS to acquire blue chip talent to compete at a high level. He's just got to get a full complement of players that fit his system. After all, Gonzaga, Butler, and VCU didn't attract blue-chips for YEARS and still had tremendous success based on coaching, scheme, and workhorse players that fit the scheme.

That's true...I guess I am forgetting that you do not really need elite talent to compete in the SEC in basketball.

Booster support and recruiting are the only questionables. Basketball is such a "momentum" sport, and he motivates through the roof. I'm almost sold.. He's definately doing more with less.. Let him get two near stars on the roster next year and watch him go..

Means nothing at this point. By all accounts, Ray has ground to make up with Horatio and Malik. But the way we're playing and improving right now can not hurt us.

This is the kid he HAS to get. I know its 2015 but still

I honestly don't look at Newman and Booker as the guys that are going to "save the program" -- because by all accounts, they are most likely one and done guys. Unless you are Kentucky, you can't build a program on the backs of those types of players.
It's the Craig Sword, Fred Thomas, and Gavin Ware type players that are going to build the program. The blue-chips, however, are the ones that give us the opportunity to really step up and have a special season though...

Malik Newman is the type player we have to land to give our program credibility for the future.

If you can fill a decent roster and play sound, team basketball, you have an advantage over 2/3 of the conference.

Agreed. I wasn't being sarcastic in my response.
