I see Oh-Tis putting out that Hornsby is withdrawing from the portal and staying. If true, that’s good news!

Shocked people aren't lining up to take a QB that can't throw.

Or touch the ball 3 times in a row without fumbling. I like Hornsby just fine and it's awesome he's staying, but his arms looks like twigs. Like every time he touches the ball im holding my breath because one solid hit and he's in pieces and the ball is flying. Dude needs to live in the weight room this off season

I just keep it real. The playcalling when he's in games speaks for itself.

It wouldn’t have been the end of the world if he left but it’s not a bad thing that we still have him either. He could still become a very good player. I just don’t get the people acting like we should’ve processed him

I think he can provide value to the team at another position. Him coming back makes me wonder what offers he expected vs. what he got, though.

At the same time, if he's willing to sit behind KJ this long for a shot at QB, I admire the dedication.

He's got Lamar Jackson speed.

If only he could produce in the passing game like Lamar.

We should let Petrino ooach him up for a few months. He knows how to mold his quarterbacks.

That'll piss Briles off because he won't be able to call a WR pass next season.

Two years ago KJ looked like a huge bust. Now he's dark horse Heisman talk. Hornsby could possibly help in the slot position, but I suspect he'll do what most 18 or 19 year old kids do...mature...get stronger and with that speed he'll do just fine.

Guess we'll find out. Save the thread.

Obviously you never saw any HS. film from KJ.
He had major potential as a D1 QB.

Briles has done a great job developing his skills.

Need him on the field more in some capacity. Time for Briles to show some creativity. Especially in the red zone, I'd love to see him and KJ on the field at the same time.

He's too elite of an athlete not to get some consistent touches each game. He should add weight with maturity and work in the weight room. Ideally Briles would be able to continue to develop his passing while he gets PT as RB or WR. I'd bet he's 190-200lbs by next season. He still only 175?

With Coley have this year and spring to develop...hopefully we can afford to use Malik more.

I could see him coming in for:

Stretch the field vertically
Reverses and jet sweeps
Wildhog with KJ split outside
Slot reciever swing pass
Wr screens
Qb and slot reciever option play

Plus probably see him get a series at QB most games.

He is too fast not to be on the field at least a minnimum 10-15 snaps a game.

If KJ doesn't go to the NFL next year...Malik will be back in the portal.

The phases of the transfer portal are very interesting psychological data points of fans.

Enters transfer portal: "This is a major blow and we could be in trouble if [x, y, z] happens"

Goes to another school: "He wouldn't be a big contributor because of [x, y, z]"

Removes self from transfer portal: "Awesome but he really needs to [x, y, z]"

Can we just accept than we have no idea what will happen and how players will develop in various environments? He could never play, he could be one of the best we've ever had. KJ was ragged for his lack of efficiency but if you look at his development and end stats he had one of the most efficient seasons for an Arkansas QB ever.

What is being said about Hornsby now that wasn't getting said all throughout the season and even into last spring?

Hornsby is a really good backup qb. He’s got to get a lot better at throwing the ball to be the starter in 23.
