My “ND got left out because…” theory: It was just their turn

The committee seems to want to spread the love of who gets screwed and who gets favorable treatment, and when the teams being compared were ND, Miami, and Bama…it was ND’s turn.
When they put Bama over FSU in 2023 and left the ACC completely out, you knew they were going to try to balance that out in future years. So 2024 they leave Bama as the first team out in favor of a weak ACC team (SMU). They also left Miami out despite only 2 losses calling their defense out in the process. So Miami was going to be on the list of trying to get them in the CFP at the next opportunity. Enter 2025 where it was time for Bama and Miami to get a little bit of the benefit of the doubt again. When Virginia lost, there was zero chance the ACC was going to be left completely out of 2 of the last 3 playoffs when they were the one with the undefeated team in 2023.
In conclusion, it was just ND’s turn. Look for the committee to try everything it can to give ND at least the 12th spot next year to make sure they get in with the new MOU.
Edit: Bama/Miami better not be near the cut line next year or they could easily get left out.

I understand this to a point, but only as far as conference championships go. If you’re not in a conference but, for example, played Texas, Georgia, Miami, Indiana, USC and Ohio St. and ended up 10-2, would you still say "They're not in a conference?"

They played one game and lost.
Next years schedule for ND is just as weak. And 3 away games…
Hardest games (at home): SMU, Miami, and USC.

Media job is to get clicks and create reactions. Easiest way to do that after CFP is to stir up the ones that were close to making it and thought they deserved it along with stirring up ones that made it

They just got caught with their pants down.
They couldn't punish bama cause they didnt punish smu for losing to a team ranked 19th last year.

Three letters…SMU.
Lower level B12 and ACC teams won’t get the benefit of the doubt.

Leaving ND out creates controversy.
If Tulane and JMU weren't in the playoff and ND and Vandy were, nobody would be complaining except the fighting uteruses/uteri because it would make sense.
Social Media wouldn't be blowing up with college football talk. Everybody would just be waiting for the games.

I was told playing in a conf championship game wouldn’t hurt a team. Also heard it’s because a prior matchup which is odd because a different team made it in.
