Notre Dame went 8-3 and turned down an invitation to play Auburn in the Independence Bowl.

They didn’t play in bowl games until the bowls counted in the national championship equation.

This year isn’t new.

What about Iowa State and Kansas State?

More may be coming.

Bowl games may have to be canceled.

The lust for money has destroyed the greatest college sport, and I hate it.

People here decry ‘DEI football” but the bow games take 6-6, and sometimes 5-7, teams.

Time to just shitcan the bowl games. They are meaningless and the opt-outs have made them unwatchable.

Sad but true. Make a 16 team playoff and an 8 team G5 playoff and stop it there.

That would not be a bad thing.

Bowl games facing cancellation might have to rethink the compensation they give to the participants a bit more substantial than goodie bags.
