They are the "flagship" of that state after all..

What do the Golden Domers have that the Hoosiers don't have?

Not really a big deal for ND.

ND and Indiana won’t ever be recruiting the same players. It’s not like other same state programs where they really need the in-state guys

Plus this is shaping up to be a repeat of last year. Notre Dame over Indiana in Indianas first game

9 Notre Dame beats 8 Oklahoma

9 Notre Dame beats 1 Indiana

9 Notre Dame beats 5 Oregon/4 Texas Tech

3 Ohio State or 2 Georgia wins the National Championship

This is complete BS. Sure, nationwide ND has the lead but Tuberville said it well when he said that every school needs to draw a circle 180 miles around their campus and dominate that area to win. ND and Indiana will absolutely compete for in state guys, parts of Ohio, Chicago, and Illinois among others.

Notre Dame just signed a top 4 class and they have zero players from Illinois or Indiana. Two players from Ohio which are 3 stars among their lowest rated players

Notre Dame does recruit some Pennsylvania and Michigan area but by far Notre Dame is recruiting mainly in the southern half of the country. Nowhere near 180 miles

Indiana is the one recruiting mostly local midwest with a small amount of Florida/Georgia mixed in

There’s only two 4 star recruits in the whole state of Indiana this year. Nowhere close to enough players for some 180 mile radius. Auburn could win a championship if they had every player in 180 mile radius but it’s not the same for schools in the north

How is all that working out for Notre Dame and Indiana? The world has changed. Duke just won the ACC. SMU has a top 20 class. High school classes don’t define programs like they used to. Half of the signees will hit the portal because they are losing money sitting the bench. This is what Lane Kiffin has benefitted from the last 5 years. Stealing from the portal. He didn’t develop kids out of high school. Now with some money Indiana can become the number 1 team in the country. The playing field is leveling and so many refuse to see it. By the way just take a look at Vanderbilt.
