If Lane was staying, why would he not come out this minute and say so?

It seems if he was staying, he would come out this minute and let his team, staff, and fan base know. Especially given everything in motion with the playoffs.
This all adds up to he is not staying…and is waiting for the LSU game to end. I don’t think he wanted to announce a decision until their season ended.
