Moments after the lopsided loss, Mississippi State Head Coach Jeff Lebby unleashed a scorching tirade that ripped through the college football world like wildfire:
“Let’s not kid ourselves,” Lebby began, his voice shaking with frustration. “Ole Miss didn’t win with heart — they won with NIL muscle. They’ve got collectives throwing money around like it’s nothing, and they recruit with resources programs like ours can’t even dream of. That’s not the spirit of college football. That’s not development. That’s not grit.”
He didn’t stop there.
“Meanwhile, we’re out here building something real. We’ve got kids who show up for the jersey, for the school, for the love of the game — not for endorsement deals or flashy promises. This massive gap, this disparity, it's not a healthy rivalry anymore. It's a resource war we can't win under the current system.”

Fire this idiot now. I hate the NIL era as much as anyone but he basically just said we have less talent and are too poor to compete. Nevermind the 3 games we should have won but blew it due to his poor coaching.

He is a whiny little bitch making excuses and obviously not up for the job

He’s just trying to implore the boosters to step up. I agree with him completely as State can be there too if they find the money. It needs to start with dedicated money for Kamario.

That is pretty sad. What does he think Ole Miss looked like when Lane got there? Hell, I think he was there, wasn't he?

He's not wrong. State is falling way behind in the NIL era. His comments were made to try to motivate fans and boosters to step up.

He got lit up by a division 2 transfer qb that's probably making less than every qb on his roster. I see his point, but to say heart and development had nothing to do with it is insulting with regards to guys like Chambliss and lacy

You want to fire a coach for speaking the truth?

Are you claiming Miss St is spending the same amount of resources and he just sucks with them?

The problem is that he made it sound like he'd rather have the guys that play for NIL money rather than guys who play for good 'ole State U... like the guys he has now.

Sounds like he would trade his guys in for the money grabber types in a heartbeat.

He shouldn’t have aired that laundry in public like that. But he isn’t wrong. MSU spent less on football NIL than any other SEC program, a 1/3 of what the big spenders spent.

He is 100% correct. College football is no longer about recruiting, developing young men and building a program the right way. It’s about fixing your mistakes and ineptitude with NIL dollars and lambos. Who can be the flashiest and promise kids with millions they don’t need. CFB has whored itself out. And the quality of the product is still amateur hour dog shite.

LOL and Ole Miss's head coach is leaving because that NIL muscle is still not enough.

Lebby should just quit and leave the SEC, now, if that's his mindset.

That looks like it's AI written but he's not wrong.

But you know what else helps? No blowing games like Tennessee, UF, and especially Texas.
