Gone in 3 or 4 seasons, most likely.

11-1 in year two, even losing to Horns, says yes. We will see how he does in year 3

Best coach they’ve had since joining the conf imo.

Mark Stoops would have this team 11-1 too.

He didn’t look very happy or confident in the 4th qt. Not a look good for a coach that’s about to go into the playoffs. Hmmm

Back to 8-4 when you play a normal schedule. Can’t play the 7 worst teams every year.

Absolutely.
A&M is not a football powerhouse. Never have been. Almost certainly never will be.
He wins the games he should. He works the portal well. He keeps our dumbass boosters in line. He fights for call when he knows theyre warranted (which is damn important with SEC officiating).
He's the best coach A&M has had in 30 years.

He’s 11-1 and taking A&M of all programs to the CFP. The overreactions here sometimes

You must’ve been the biggest James Franklin fan

He lost one game. Way to overreact.
Have no idea if he is the guy, but I like what I’ve seen in two years. He got past a bunch of mental roadblocks this year, but not all of them.
I like what he is building, but certainly, I’m disappointed in the loss tonight. We still have games to play, so let’s see how the season ends.

Yes. Next year will be the litmus test. 5 SEC road games
@Oklahoma
@Alabama
@Mizzou
@Scar
@LSU
Plus visits from both UT schools.

Yep. This is looking like a stable program for the first time in decades.
Texas and Arch have been improving all season. Theyre a much better team today they they were 6 weeks ago. Tough game. Tough loss. Thats life in the SEC. Let's see how the playoff seeding goes.

An overpaid, over weight high school PE teacher. He knows nothing about offense which is why they don't let their QB walk & chew gum at the same time. They don't throw down field forward passes.

I equate his extension to Drinks. Both got paydays after playing a charmin scheduled and beating easy teams. Time will tell, but Elko finally played a decent team tonight and spanked by 10.

A&M is 11-1 and in the CFP with their best season in 30+ years. Yeah, he's still the guy but, feasting on the bottom of the conference glossed over some weaknesses.
Elko better find a NG & start mixing in 5-man fronts on 1st & 2nd down to stop the run more effectively. Otherwise it will be a short playoff run.
None of their 3-tech DTs are NFL prospects & neither is the LB York. I could see if A&M had some All-Conference 3-techs then maybe theyd have better run fronts....Elko's 4-2-5 has been getting gashed for long runs all year tho & that was against the bottom of the conference. They made Weisner look like Saquan fkn Barkley running behind the Eagles OL tonight in the 2H.
If Elko recruits some stud 3-techs & safties to run his fronts then he's really the guy. If not, then he needs to adjust his fronts accordingly. Being a defensive guru-type, he may not want to alter his philosophy. Great coaches can adapt & succeed.

Every Aggie coach in my lifetime had a solid first 2 or so years before getting ridiculously extended into mediocrity
