It was true for Ole Miss last year and it’s true for Texas this year. At least y’all beat UK in overtime

Ok, and top programs don't lose their head coach to a rival after their best season in 50 years.

i don't disagree. the more interesting question is, do playoff caliber teams lose to teams who lost to UF

While I agree that we don’t deserve it, I would also understand if we dropped osu next year. Zero benefit of playing good ooc games if win/loss is all that matters. Why risk the injuries for no benefits?

We are a joke and I don’t want to see us playing real football programs any more

It's benefitting Miami and A&M a whole lot...

You have to be the biggest Florida troll out there

You play them at home. Why would you tuck your tail unless you are a coward.

There is a benefit if you’re good enough to win. Playing strong OOC is helping both Miami and A&M. Beating OSU would have put you at the top of the 2 loss teams despite losing to UF. Just like beating UGA would have. But you lost. Life’s all about risk/reward and sometimes you lose.

There’s no reason to take on that risk. Schedule a cupcake. 10-2 with loses to Florida and Georgia puts them in over Oklahoma.

I don't think Texas belongs because we choked on applesauce.
This season was always looking like 10-2 even in the preseason. Had we won in the swamp we could be rooting for Auburn. Instead we choked and now all that remains in rooting for Auburn is so Lane is forced to opt out of the SECCG

Playoff teams don’t lose to Arch. Seriously, neither team is remotely playoff worthy

What 2 loss team has a better resume than Texas had they scheduled a cupcake OOC schedule?
OU? No.. not with a head to head result
ND? No.. not with a similar opponent at home result
Alabama? Maybe but would probably depend on tomorrows results with FSU vs Florida playing since those two teams each team lost to.
Miami? Miamis two losses are worse than at Georgia and at Florida so toss up there. But probably not with 3 top 10 wins and one being a top 3 win.
Utah? See above.
Vandy? No.. not with head to head.
Michigan? If they beat OSU they would be the one team that would absolutely deserving as they’d have a top 3 win as well and a better OOC opponent (loss to OU) versus Texas scheduling a cupcake instead of OSU
hypothetically
So again, where is the benefit of scheduling elite OOC teams on your schedule?

Ole Miss isn’t a top program. They’re having a helluva season this year and their coach is leaving….because he is a whore

Well the fact that day owns sark doesn’t help. It’s as close to a guaranteed loss as we have on our schedule. Thankfully we avoid our annual embarrassing loss to Georgia next year.
There is just something broken in a system that rewards playing samford over a top 5 team. Doesn’t matter. We won’t back out and I doubt they are scared. Cfb is just broken.
