No SEC Title Game and a 1st round playoff host in Kyle field is much better than the extra SEC Title Game with the "bye"

But there is no "bye" if you're playing in the conference title game. So playing and losing it means you play an extra game in the playoffs.

This format is so stupid.

They’re going to finish 4th in the conference and they lost to the only opponent with a 4-4 or better record. They might not even host.

Well, they're supposed to look at the whole body of work. If they did that instead of just checking the last 3 weeks, then they'd see that A&M is 11-1 and deserve a spot still in the top 6 or better.

I like to razz everyone as much as the next guy but ultimately, they only lost one game. I don't see why they should get punished so badly just because you only remember a week or two in the past of the whole season.

Exactly, its very stupid. All the bye teams got their asses kicked. Having the first round game is better for the students, school, town, etc. Nobody will remember that awesome bye week you had. They are gonna remember that awesome home playoff game.

A&M is in a great position

They need to pick the two highest ranked teams in the conference, else it doesn't mean anything more than the basketball CCG which means essentially nothing.

The only SEC team they played with a winning conference record this year was Texas.

They did not play the 7 of the top 8 teams or something in that neighborhood.

I don’t think anyone really wants to play in the SECCG. There’s no benefit to any team other than maybe Ole Miss because it could lock in Lane for another week.

They need to go away.

A&M will be at 7, maybe 6 if Lane leaves

You should. Y’all are absolute frauds and should be ranked one spot ahead of Miami who should be ranked one spot ahead of Notre Dame.

12 team playoff was a mistake. Too many teams and rewards too much losing. 4 teams was good but if they had to expand it, it shouldn’t have been more than 8.

Based on what? Their best win is a one pointer over Notre Dame in Week 3.

The rest of their wins look like this:

UTSA (6-5)
Utah State (6-6)
Auburn (5-6)
Mississippi State (5-7)
Florida (3-8)
Arkansas (2-9)
LSU (7-4)
Missouri (7-4)
South Carolina (4-7)
Samford (1-11)

True. I would move them to the end of the 1 loss teams which would put them at #7.

It worked for Ohio State last year. If you're A&M, do you want your 13th game this season to be against Alabama in Atlanta or home against a borderline top 12 team like BYU? Seems like a really easy question to answer.

that has more to do with the fact that conf champions were getting the automatic bye. So you had inferior teams there. The only upset was ND over Georgia.

Ohio State
Georgia
Alabama
Indiana
Oregon
Texas Tech
Ole Miss
Notre Dame

I could make a case for all these teams being ranked above aTm.

You're going by the eye and schedule test. They're going to see that A&M is 11-1 and their only loss was in their rivalry game on the road. They won't be ranked any worse than #7. Just telling you how it's going to be not so much how it "should" be.
