The LSU Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to name McNeese State leader Wade Rousse its next system president, and it has picked the University of Alabama Provost Jim Dalton as both executive vice president and chancellor of its Baton Rouge campus.

The dual hires mark the first time the university will have separate system and main campus leaders since the roles were merged in 2012.

Now just AD and head coach (and staff) to go!

Rousse was favored for the LSU presidency by board Vice Chairman Lee Mallett, also a Lake Charles native and a major political donor to Gov. Jeff Landry

It's no secret that the LSU president resigned because Landry wanted to put his guy in.

ETA: The prior governor (democrat) appointed the prior president.

Dalton is a good hire for LSU

Admin at Tennessee/Ohio State/Michigan/Alabama before. That's a good pedigree.

Is this more of the fallout from the Texas A&M takeover of LSU?

New coach
New AD
New governor
New President
New Chancellor/VP

Asking for a friend.

Well, one of the two seem like solid hires. I enjoy LSU more when they are crashing into icebergs.

You mean a loss to Texas A&M was enough LSU to fire every fricker in sight? Academic, athletic, no matter?

The embarrassment of a tamu loss requires a cleaning of the house.

I’m sure a horn understands that people have to answer when something like that happens

During the worst stretch of Alabama football in 15 seasons.

The president's last day was June 30. This part has been in motion for a while.
