We might grant him a phone interview if we get that far down our list.

I love when people predict things that haven't happened and then slink away when they don't happen

He was already extended a few weeks ago through 2031.

Automatic. But still, cling to it like a child’s stuffed animal.

I think most of the logical UF fans and people actually plugged in are already shifting from Kiffin to other options.

Kiffin and his staff-retention budget are already fully funded. As of this morning, Ole Miss internally feels he's ~75% likely to stay — unless a certain school in Texas opens or the NFL comes calling.

That’s the reality. The UF smoke is mostly message-board wishcasting at this point.

This is why I want him signed now. Because if the Dolphins come calling, he is 100% gone

Doesn't he have like a 37 mil buyout ? If true no one would hire him.

"He was never offered the job."

This is always true. The only official job offer is the one that is accepted, because the negotiations are through the agent. That way, they can agree that they were always all-in on the hire.

It's always propaganda. This is the lying season: everything you hear is designed to make you believe a specific narrative, often to distract from what is really happening; see how LSU and Lincoln Riley used the rumors of him going to Baton Rouge to hide what really happened ahead of time. It's all akin to a magic trick.

I think Lane stays in Oxford because he would be leaving a team in a playoff run. I think the money people in Gainesville and Baton Rouge already know that. I think the rumors help all parties, including Lane who will get a bigger contract from Ole Miss.

Only trust press conferences.

Him signing means nothing. His buyout if he leaves is not the same as the buyout we pay him if we fire him.

I would imagine a new deal would have a new buyout number.

Also optics matter

Not to introduce bad thoughts or anything… but MSU was without an AD and had a football ignorant person in the president’s chair when the current cycle of fricktardism got started after Leach died.

I think he's going to Texas.

Of course that would require Sark to leave etc, so it's a bit of a long shot. However, I've seen shite like this happen before. Even involving the same people.

The dominoes haven't really started to fall yet.
