Would have signed a new contract. Every other coach worth a crap already has . Kind of a red flag if he doesn’t get a new contract before seasons end .

If only we had statements throughout his tenure or any incidents from the past we could compare this to. If only.

I do think it’s silly on his part to not sign if he truly intends on staying.

Why let it become a distraction? Hasn’t bit him yet, but if they lose OM fans will jump on it.

Or, waiting for the market correction from all of the new hires and extensions to play out and ensure he maximizes value for himself as the #1 coaching draft pick with either a new team or an extension.

It is a near certainty that he is going to be the highest paid HC at year's end in CFB, if he chooses to be. Then the retention pay raises will begin in a scramble for other programs with top HCs.

If you want an honest answer, he's been really consistent through his career that he doesn't look at this stuff until after the season. He likely wants to see what NFL jobs open up and whether there is any interest there. That being said, his name is still Mudd in the NFL world.

Signing an extension means literally nothing. Coaches can sign a billion year extension and leave the next day with zero repercussion

Dude's coached in the SEC for like 10 plus years, is the hottest coach on the market and people still don't know how to spell his name.

He left Alabama to go to FAU the week before the NC game in 2016, so there's that.

It's Kiffin. Good Lord, how do people not know how to spell this man's name? He's been coaching in this conference since 2009.

I gave an honest answer. I concur on the NFL aspect in terms of his blackball, but I am also uncertain if the NFL is a factor for him. His personality and "happy place" seem to fit the college environment.

He gets to be king of the castle and seems to enjoy the energy of the college coaching environment.

He got an automatic extension when he beat Oklahoma through 2031.

Ya'll need to get a life.

Maybe if he put out a saying about leaving Oxford in a pine box?

Not true. Having all his kids there and having roots where he gets along with the AD and Admin's trumps money to him. He has literally said it publicly.

If it falls on deaf ears, that's ya'll's issue and not his. That dude is living his best fricking life right now.

I think that strengthens the topic's premise though

Here's another angle. Every time there is a coaching search and his name is mentioned, our NIL collective, Vaught Society, and UMAA Foundation has a boom in donations.
