It seriously is wild to me how accurately this was predicted. Also Nolte is one of the best yellers ever.

I just think for me what resonates is him talking about his losing team giving the best effort. When I was a kid even being in the Top 25 meant something. Going to a bowl, any bowl, meant something. Now it’s playoffs or fire your coach. The amount of vacancies right now is just… it’s wild. Maybe I had an extra beer too many tonight. Idk. But whoever wrote that speech he delivered was onto something.

I watched the whole thing. American Football is The greatest sport ever conceptualize in the history of sport and mankind. It is psychology, understanding the self, raw power, nuance, in battle on the fly recognition vs the same, geometry, physics, micro and macro strategy, deception, process, habits, nutrition, body development according to position, locking in and scouring every possible thing that can expose weakness or exploit weakness. Competition. It’s what makes the United States of America what we are.

Edit to add the speech was to a basketball team but I wanted the Mic.

Bob Cousy playing the AD in that movie was amazing.

The free throw scene makes me laugh every time.

Fun fact he made all of those shots. Nolte himself was surprised about halfway thru.

Apparently they were supposed to switch up after Cousy missed because Nolte wanted to show off his basketball skills but then Cousey never missed.
