I don’t think he feels good. Even though he probably saw the writing on the wall, I think he believed that he could turn it around. And he’s right, Auburn is close. They’ve played close all season, all 5 losses were by 10 points or less. But “close” is all Auburn was capable of under Freeze, and that became glaringly apparent.
He came in and thought he could do everything the same way he did at Ole Miss, and it didn’t work. With a merely serviceable offense, this team is top 25. But what we saw the last three seasons on that side of the ball is straight up coaching malpractice. Last night was just pathetic, and to lose that way at home.
