Gotta be honest I didn’t think Lane would be at Ole Miss this long

I figured he would have jumped ship to a better job by now or Ole Miss fires him if his time there didn’t work out the last 5 years. Yet he has done good while there and here he is coaching Ole Miss and being #7 in the country with a 7-1 record.

Don’t think anyone even went after him until this year.

He's the 3rd longest tenured coach currently in the SEC. Only Stoops and Smart have been at their spots longer.

It is very possible he's in his last spot.
Hard for some to recognize that.

And he had a good run there

I mean, unless he gets a Brian Kelly retirement deal why would he leave? He can pull a Mark Richt easily at Ole Miss and have 10 win seasons often and then and never get fired for not winning the big one

Well, Layla did show back up.
Do he's got that going for him.

Ole Miss's AD has given him everything he's asked for. We were gonna do some major stadium renovations (completely tearing down one side and rebuilding it) and Lane asked us not to and use that towards NIL instead, and did as he asked.
At Ole Miss, he's been able to run the program his way, without any pushback from the AD and boosters, and the results have been very good for us.
Renderings for those that may be wondering what we were gonna do:

Enlighten me. Who offered him from 2022 through 2024?
Nothing comes up for me. Just some 2022 Auburn rumor.

I’m just literally asking after trying to search myself.
If it can’t be proven, why is everyone acting like it was so definitive? Why is it so wrong to err on the side of that it didn’t happen when there’s no proof?

I think Kiffin mentioned the Auburn interest in his recent documentary. That was in 2022.

At this point I don’t see him leaving. Good for him. I wish Arky had landed him during our last search. He doesn’t strike me as a guy who’s willing to chase another payday, especially after so many sudden moves early in his career. I’ll admit he’s made me dislike OM less, not sure how I feel about that

I figured he would have been fired by now.
