Saban thinks it is a good idea, but bad timing. He believes that he loves the game and likes the atmosphere of coaching, but he also likes other things.

He likes taking long walks with Mrs. Terry around his massive compound on Jupiter Island. When the palm trees blow in a slight breeze, he is reminded of time and the essence of life.

LSU occasionally crossed his mind before the firing of Kelly. Now, he thinks about what is happening at his alma mater more often but he doesn't know if his has enough energy left to do another coaching gig.

He also remembers how LSU fans were so mean and hateful and disparaging of him and his family when he left LSU to coach at Alabama.

After dinner, and upon arriving back home after a walk on the beach, Saban often reflects on the intricacies of his professional life and the twists and turns that have presented themselves over the decades.

He's not quite sure if LSU fans really like him again or if they are just craven, hypocritical opportunists who will say anything to anyone in order to be successful.

More than anything, he thinks often often of his magical time at Alabama and how he was king of the college football universe there for almost two whole decades.

He smiles and a contented countenance overtakes him when he realizes what a special situation he was in at Alabama and how much the whole fanbase, admin, and general populace of Alabama loved and cherished him, his wife, and his family.

All in all, he has decided to inform LSU to just frick right on off and die a slow death, just like a crawdad in gumbo.

I think Nick Saban for the LSU gig are purely a caretaker manager makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Established hand at the wheel who commands instant respect among the players and staff. Doesn't have to deal (or at least is not going to be held to) the NIL and modern recruiting headaches he hates... and doesn't even have to worry about SEC results, just keep the lights on and don't lose to Western Kentucky.

Saban has never thought of becoming the coach at Missouri because most of the fan-base are pretentious pricks who try to use big words much too often.

Saban has given this much thought but, in the end, he feels LSU fans are slightly retarded, as a group, and doesn't want to associate with them again.

I can’t wait to see who you scrubs end up with after your coach bolts. Assuming someone wants him.

You need to put that dream back in your fricked up head...That story is just weird...and btw, Saban doesn't remember Alabama fondly...He has admitted that he hated the politics and the bandwagon, entitled fanbase.
He is still stuck there in a sort of a suspended animation while figuring out how he can finally get away.....
Coming back to LSU is how you finally get away...they would hate him as much as he hates them.

Saban thinks about the many options he has available at this juncture in his life, especially with the job opening now available at his alma mater.

Mrs. Terry has advised him to not take the LSU job because Baton Rouge is a complete shithole and reminds her of a dark corner of a mudhole in an abandoned junk yard.

Saban doesn't care about the third world environment though, he is all about the X's and O's and the job. Ultimately, he has decided he just needs more time to make his mind up.

How old are you? He left LSU to coach in the NFL. Were you even alive then?

You left off the part where he said the biggest professional mistake he ever made was leaving LSU.

Saban is ofen reminded of bat shite and craziness combined together when he thinks of LSU fans. It's not a pretty picture to envision.

In fact, he would likely have already accepted the LSU opening if not for LSU fans like you, in particular.

He is at a point in his life where he has decided that bug-eyed insanity isn't fashionable or cool.

Careful there. "Coach" may be too big of a word for him to comprehend. Some ain't too bright in Alabamer.

Yeah, right, and the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor too, didn't they? Every real LSU fan knows that Saban left LSU to coach at Alabama.
