Saturday was the Brian Kelly era at LSU boiled down into a single evening. Flashes of what the team can achieve, followed by complete collapse, all while Kelly is screaming at coordinators, assistants, and players. The hope, the disappointment, the coach rage, the exhaustion from fans, players, boosters, and administrators. All on display.

Brian Kelly was a mishire, to be sure, but he did nothing to endear himself to anyone. If you're going to be a jerk, you better win, otherwise, no one will have your back when things take a turn.

Brian Kelly has been the head coach at Notre Dame and LSU. If he couldn't get it done at those places, he just can't get it done.

I've never seen a coach have a fan base collectively against him. He just rubbed just about everyone the wrong way it seemed.Crazy.

I’ll bet BK’s winning percentage will hit an all-time high at his next job.

I'm not certain he couldn't have saved his job. Supposedly the ask from Woodward was to fire Joe Sloan, and Kelly wanted to fire the OL coach too, then things spiraled from there.

If true, what a selfish prick. Because he wanted to have a tantrum, the entire staff is looking for jobs. But, Kelly has his money, so who cares about anyone else?

There was just nothing redeeming about him. Even with O, whom I hate, I can understand why people liked him. Miles of course had that quirky personality that could be endearing. Saban was a hardass, but everyone loves a winner.

BK was a stick in the mud, who couldn’t win and whose teams played sloppily and without discipline. There was just nothing to love.

BK is like Bill Belichick….if BB never won anything of significance.

Same persona. You gotta win shite to act like that.

I don't even know if it was stick in the mud. Something about him just seemed forced. With few exceptions (like the halftime interview on the BCS title game vs Alabama), I never got the feeling you were getting much genuine out of him. Some people have a really hard time doing that but it doesn't look like he tried.

I think that at the time it seemed like a great hire. You get a the winningest coach in college football to leave a program that he built to come and build our program. The problem was that he wanted to do it his way, abandoning the way that 3 different coaches won championships with. Throw in the fact that he is the most unlikeable coach in the country, and that he was losing games leads to a fanbase turning on you quickly.

He lost what fans and administration that still supported him with the "you're spoiled" press conference.

If I were Brian Kelly my next job would be railing Thai hookers 3 at a time....and with that buyout my winning percentage would be 100%.

I’m convinced faking an accent to pander is one of the easiest ways to tell someone is a fraud.

Kelly faking the Cajun accent to start his LSU tenure supports that.

Or like Kalen Deboer and Bama fans after Week 1.

Even his dog hates that mfer. So far we have lost zero players and zero committed players. When have you ever seen that happen

There were actually quite a few of us LSU Fans that never liked the hire. I was very much against him being hired.

But… once he was in place, and it was a 10 year deal, you either come to accept it, or just don’t support, or watch the team you love. Well…. That’s not going to happen, so you just accept it, and try to make the best of it.

But… believe me, there were quite a lot of us that didn’t like it, but just shut up about it, because you’re just pissing on all your fellow fans if you constantly bitch about it.

Still too early for that. You're going to lose players to the portal for numerous reasons because that's just the nature of college football now. You will NOT lose any players for firing Kelly. The commits are probably taking a wait and see approach to see who the new coach will be. Just understand that other teams that were in the running are going to start pressing hard again. If the recruits don't like the new staff, you'll probably lose a few. That's not an indictment against LSU. That's just how the game works now.
