I think most people think the SEC playoff members right now likely look like

A&M
Bama
UGA
Ole Miss
Vandy

So how can a 5th get in?

The Big 10 could well be looking at 3 Ohio State, IU, and Oregon.

The big 12 will get 1 and G5 So that’s 5.

What works against this is it is looking likely Miami won’t play for its conference and get an at large meaning 2 from the ACC.

It seems we need ND and Miami to lose for the SEC to get 5 from what I can see

The ACC currently is on track for some situations that would leave multiple 11-1 teams. Its very important for the SEC that Georgia beat Ga Tech if the SEC is gonna max out bids

I’m pulling for Vandy. I would like to see GA Tech, Indiana, and Texas Tech also win out.

Unfortunately, I think Bama and UGA will be there, probably Ole Miss and Aggie as well.

I hope there’s controversy at the end of the day.

I have t looked at the remaining schedule but I believe Big 12 gets two teams in the CFP. Probably not deserved but that’s my projection.

SEC will be lucky to get four teams in this year. Five is highly unlikely.

Most likely scenario rn is two teams each from B12 and ACC; one from G5; ND; and the remaining six split between SEC and B10.

Its going to be interesting to see what happens if Tennessee, Vandy, and Notre Dame all end 10-2. I still think Vols go 9-3 so that will eliminate them. But if Notre Dame gets in over 10-2 SEC teams thats just horse crap.

It will be tough if ND wins out because the committee if anything can be argued at all will never want a 5-2 split with the Big 10 and SEC in bids. They will always lean to a 4-3 split.

Notre Dame has beaten no one.

Their schedule is a joke.

Pay attention to Pitt. They have a dangerous, under the radar good team and they still play Notre Dame and Miami at home and Ga Tech on the road. They can shake the playoff picture up.

Texas, likewise, can play spoiler in the SEC. The fact that they pulled a rabbit out of their arse against our two worst teams these past few weeks is trouble. Had they lost those two games they would have quit but now they still have something to play for.

we also need USC to lose - the stronger the look, the better case ND has

They will just say ND has the 2 best losses- A&M and Miami. It would take a really good win resume for them to keep ND out of the playoff at 2 losses.

If Tennessee goes 10-2 our two losses are the best in the country - UGA and Bama. That is a big IF though

Who (good teams) would TN have wins over? TN might be a 2 loss team that would go over ND if it came down to that.

Thanks for highlighting this.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out the ACC.

What a shite show.

The BIG maybe only gets in three teams.

Not sure who the forth is outside of OSU, Indy, and Oregon.

If vols went 10-2 we would have wins over OU and Vandy. A tall task with this defense

I've watched a lot of Ga Tech the last two weeks. They are a bad team winning games in a bad conference.

Auburn can do it too against Alabama! With a different quarterback it is looking good to beat a team like Alabama.

I hate to be a downer but I could see UGA dropping another game or 2 if our defense keeps eating valium before the game.
