Oxford to Boca Raton is roughly same as Gainesville to Boca Raton, FL

Time to melt that noodle. Lane used to live in Boca Raton, and this is the part of Florida where people want to live and the area he vacations around. He is not going to beaches far north Florida, Daytona and up. Providing a map here, you can see how far Gainesville is from South Florida.
It is basically a 5 hour drive on a good day, with the quickest route being through the middle of the state of very boring scenery. Imagine I-49 in Louisiana, but now with Florida drivers. It is close enough that going by plane seems to not be rational, but Florida fans are currently not in a rational state.
Ruling out driving then, to get Lane and family where they actually want to be in Florida -
Oxford to Boca Raton - 3h and 14m
Gainesville to Boca Raton - 2h and 1m
That is what moving to Gainesville nets Lane, 1 less hour. The beaches are not the same. You cannot sell the beach life, when you are in the middle of the state and the preferred beaches are 5+ hours away.
His day to day life is going to be spent in Oxford or Gainesville and Oxford life is multiple times better than Gainesville.

Gainesville to Crescent Beach is a mere 70 miles and an easy drive.
CB is another preferred area for those with extra money. SOS, and Bob Stoops both have homes.

Btw, you don't need to go to south Florida for nice beaches. West of Tampa is plenty nice enough.

Unlike Lane, you aren't paid millions to live in that dump.

I guess that settles it.
Staying in Oxford.
Staying in Oxford.

Why would he go to a beach in Crescent Beach or West Tampa when he owns a house in Boca Raton?
Make it make sense.

You are not seeing this with logic and reason. Lane is a multi-millionaire, he does not have to settle for something almost what he likes. He can get exactly what he likes. The beaches you mentioned are still not the Southern Florida preferred life of Lane Kiffin.
Once again, being in Gainesville does not sell that Florida life, as it is still very far away from that Florida lifestyle. The towns are not even comparable either, Oxford blows Gainesville away for raising a family.
What is the sell here from the gators, what can you really offer besides maybe more money. Are you going to make Kiffin the highest paid coach in CFB, that might be what it takes.

kinda thought kiffin was gonna stay but ole miss fans seem REALLY worried, starting to wonder if they know something.
