Auburn - would you be better off if you’d gone with Cadillac Williams?

Freeze seems like the worst selection

Probably would have a lower buyout.

I don’t think they really gave him a real shot.

He probably would have a similar or better record.

I would imagine that most SEC teams are going to look for head coaches with head coaching experience or at least significant OC or DC experience.

I think Caddy was coaching RBs.

Nope.

We would be in an abyss with no talent around the building.

Doubt it really matters.... Kirby would still be claiming that he was telling the refs the defense was clapping and he was actually yelling TIME OUT.

That's because he did not deserve a real shot...

Who is running to hire him?

As opposed to an abyss with talent.

Talent= potential.

As Interim HC he accepted a commitment from a 2* QB that ended up being a nobody at FIU.

Yall got three QBs on the payroll now and apparently all three are butt.

Obviously Freeze was a better hire at the time and not hiring Cadillac was the serious move, but I just don’t know what’s happened to Hugh. Maybe he isn’t motivated or he’s just lost his fastball.

I agree.

He was not going to be the coach.

Needs to work his way through the coordinator etc.

Wasn’t Williams a strong recruiter. And was it possible that balancing the HC role with other transitional responsibilities hinder recruiting?

He parlayed a football bouncing off of a helmet to a WR for a TD to upset Alabama into $588,000 per game.

He was a good not great recruiter. His name didnt really translate to recruiting success

He wasn't as good as Rodney Garner or Dameyune Craig. Believe all he recruited well was 4 RBs and Garner was the primary recruiter for Tank Bigsby.

Who will be running to hire Freeze after you dump him?

As HC? Dont know.

But most SEC teams would love hiring him for recruiting roles.

Probably worse. He won a couple games but he is relatively young in his coaching career. He doesn't have experience needed to run a program.

At the time Carnell would have been coaching for just 5 or 6 years.

Freeze needs to find the nearest exit. He may just “focus on his health”.

Correct. No Cam Coleman, no coveted portal transfers. 3 years of 60 ranked recruiting classes.

There are less known, Auburn former players who would've done better. No slight towards Caddy, but he even said that he wasn't ready for that job.

Don’t you think you’ll have a difficult time holding to those players after this season?
