If tweet fails to load, click here. I'm really surprised that Auburn has done this. I mean, they are taking a game out of Jordan Hare for money. We need more coaches speaking out about things like this otherwise CFB really will die by selling out to to make a buck.

Isnt the first transaction Freeze has made in Texas that was questionable

Of all the things i like about Lane his commitment to subtly, or sometimes not subtly, calling out the embarrassment that is auburn football. Weird that the mouthpiece of the oft shat upon auburn fanbase is the Ole Miss football coach but here we are.

He was responding to a question by a reporter.

I understand the logic of the move from the viewpoint of the athletic department. It will make more money for NIL/revenue sharing etc. But damn, if I dont hate it. Outside of the obvious like the local economic impact it has on Auburn, it has its downsides in ways that arent as obvious.
I know several people who traveled to Waco for the opener against Baylor this year. All said they had a good time and the Baylor fans were great hosts and extremely hospitable. They were really excited to be able to return that hospitality to those Baylor fans next year. It feels good to show off something you are proud of to new friends so they can maybe understand why you may be so passionate about it. Auburn people are proud of Auburn and love the traditions and like to share those things with visiting fans, for the most part. Now those Baylor fans who were excited to possibly experience some of those traditions like Toomer's Drug, Tiger Walk, the eagle flight, etc wont get to. Instead they get to go to Atlanta...yay...

This from a guy whose program has scheduled exactly zero OOC opponents that are worth watching.
Great contribution to the “community and fans” paying top dollar to come to a home game.
Auburn may be selling out, but at least it’s to try and put a better team on the field.

If Auburn is really surprised about this, they didn't follow the actions of John Cohen. They just assumed they "stole an AD" like when A&M "stole Bjork"

We’ve scheduled them, but they canceled on us.
Also, we’ve beaten your candy arse program, what, three times in a row now? Sit down and shut the frick up.

We had some really good OOC games scheduled, but over the past 2 years, several teams have backed out (USCw is one such example).

It is kind of interesting the waves things work in. Originally most SEC teams with the exception of LSU and Tennessee played their games in bigger cities because the infrastructure of southern cities was so bad. Little Rock, Birmingham, Atlanta, and Memphis were common football locations that helped give schools more exposure for recruiting and money.

You're a low information idiot if you believe that. We had good teams on the schedule that have canceled on us. For example, our opening game this year was supposed to be at Southern Cal. They backed out. We did what we could by adding a game against Washington State; about the only team available. We also had Virginia Tech on the schedule (They were good at the time) and they backed out.

This was the best move ever for Ole Miss. Bjork was a dickless moron with terrible business sense. What idiot AD would ever think it was a good idea to cooperate with the NCAA when every school that does gets anal raped, while every school that fights them, wins?
He also fricked up our stadium and put our arena in the wrong place.

I agree with Kiffin
Pretty asinine to give that away and forego helping the community with that home game.

Can't help that teams are cancelling. USC and Wake would have been good games this year no?

Can’t imagine it being 2009 and someone telling me Lane Kiffin would be the voice of reason in the SEC. I’m ready for the neutral site games to go away.

Wake Forest? You seriously think Wake Forest is a premier program?
You deserve Lane.

They would have been better than UTSA, Utah State or Samford?
USC and Wake.. We may have had V Tech this year and not Wake... Either way all 3 cancelled.
Replacing a power 4 game last minute is not easy.
