I'm not sure what to make of the Dores. Are they really good? Are they a fluke that snuck up on everyone last season and still haven't played against the meat of the schedule? I mean, South Carolina after Sellers was injured? Will they win out and waltz into the National Championship? I just don't know. Part of me thinks that putting up 35 against them last year with a RB(Sorry LANK) playing QB bodes well for the Tide..... I believe Bama will have a hard time with Pavia but Georgia is by far the best defense Ty will see all year so.... Vandy also has to stop Bama...... thoughts?

Vandy is 21st in total defense.

Georgia is 47th.

True but Georgia has played Tennessee and Alabama's offense......

Nail biter or blowout depending on how Bama preps for and executes against a difficult offense with a solid QB and scheme that Bama struggles with.

Bama 42 - Vandy 35

A good high school could do that against most of your schedule. After looking at it I'm not so sure just how good your team is.

It will be over by the start of the 4th. And their QB can go back to the ship and their next 5 losses coming.

I don’t see Vandy putting up 35 against our D. Just don’t. If Vandy does, it means breakdowns and penalties and turnovers. For this to happen, bama D would have regressed back toward week one. Not going to happen.

My biggest concern is bama’s offensive 2nd half slump against Georgia. It puzzles me why we can’t adapt in 2nd half.

We scored 24 points first half and 0 2nd half. Why?

Bama will whip Vandy Saturday. Payback. That’s a huge motivator.

Bama 38 Vandy 17

I think their adaptation was the problem. Grubb seemed to try to get ahead of UGA adjustments as he forced the run vs keep going with what was working until it didn't.

Bama can’t seem to stop the run, Vandy will try to slow the game with long drives, wear your def out with body blows and limit your possessions. This is going to be a tough, physical game

Might be the better team, hard to tell so far.

UGA even after the loss is the #4 FEI team in the country and has the #7 defense.

Georgia wasn’t playing bad defense in the first half, Bama was just had a next level gameplan and elite QB play.

Vandy is:
FEI: 18th
FEI O: 8th
FEI D: 49th

The real issue for Bama is the opposite of what UGA had to deal with against UA, Bama is extremely banged up on the DL and doesn’t contain the edges well on the ground while Vandy is absolutely lethal right now doing exactly that.

Bama is a better overall team but anyone thinking this is some Bama blowout is dreaming. This is probably the worst matchup of the year for Alabama and if Vandy were wearing different uniforms they’d probably be rated in the top 7.

24 yr old Pavia is the best QB Vandy has ever had. Hes a true dual threat QB and will score points against us again. But, we have a score to settle from last year. Our guys know if we don't bring our A game then we'll be in a dog fight. I expect us to play really good, Bama 42-21.

This is the question. Is Vandy's D for real? They finished last season 7-6 with total D ranked at 74 and Total O ranked at 123. I have zero doubt that Vandy can win the game, but if Bama plays clean and the crowd stays in it Bama should win the game. I thought the same last year and we know how that turned out.

Pavia is Johnny Football. He’s best when the play breaks down - and it’s hard to scheme for that.

Bama will need to put up 40 to win this game.

Yes, they're good. They have legit SEC talent and it's not your Daddy's Vanderbilt from years past. This is more like 1937 Commodores. They're really good and we're going to have to bring our A game.

This is a game where it all depends on Pavia and Lea getting the team mentally ready. So far, it is hard to doubt Pavia. The dude has been a baller for the last two years now and won't give up no matter what the score is.

The good thing is we have the QB and offense this year that can put up 40 realy quick. I want to see how Vandy's defense does against Bernard, Horton, Williams and Brooks. It's tough to scheme against that many good receivers on the field at the same time.

Bama outscores them. Like 38-35 or something.

It's definitely going to be a tougher row to hoe this year as I expect Bama to be more prepared as well as having home field.

I do have some concern still with the defense. They are much better than last year, but the pass D is my biggest worry.

The offense is just playing like a machine. It's wild.

At the least, I don't expect Vandy to quit.

Bama 44
Vandy 27

Bama receivers speed. Too much.
