My freshman year of college was when he won SEC POY. Only spent one year in the SEC after 2 years of winning National Titles at Butler CC in Kansas. That school produced some stud athletes back in the day. I remember Rudi having like 400 yards and 6 or 7 TDs in the NJCAA Championship game. The other team just could not get him on the ground.

Healthsouth billboards and Russell Athletic uniforms. I miss that era. Rudi won SEC player of the year in 2000. He paved the way for guys like Cadillac and Ronnie Brown at Auburn. Often overlooked, but always appreciated by Auburn fans who watched him play.

RIP Rudi. Gone way too soon.
