Nope. I don’t think the pollsters realized how bad VT is, even with their coach being fired.
It’s early though. Lots can change.

Some years, I could see where you're coming from. But there's really no dominant team this year and nobody really has that many "impressive wins."
Vanderbilt has had a more impressive start to the season than most teams and if they're 5-0, are you really saying there's 15(!!!) more deserving teams to put in front of them?
