Because this is new to me.
Mississippi State and Alcorn State played 10 minute quarters. Is this the new normal in blowouts? I have heard of a running clock, but never 10:00 quarters.

You have a nice team this year. I am actually sorta somewhat concerned about our meeting in Starkville.

I wondered about bookmakers canceling bets over it but apparently they honored all bets.

AI Overview
Mississippi State played the second half of their 63-0 win against Alcorn State on September 13, 2025, with 10-minute quarters instead of the standard 15 minutes. This decision was agreed upon by both coaching staffs at halftime due to the lopsided score at the time, with Mississippi State leading 42-0. The reduction in quarter length is permitted by NCAA rules when the game is significantly one-sided.
