Looking at our schedule, it's possible that Syracuse is the best offense that we will play

Before you laugh, they have a strong quality oline that consistently got good pushes in the second half, led the nation in passing last year and have a very solid transfer QB in Angeli and excellent coaching as well.

He stood in the pocket made all of his reads consistently and never quit, kept delivering and their lead RB is definitely NFL material. They have a proven offensive system that works.

Now let's look at the offenses left on our schedule.

All that I see of note are Oklahoma, UGA and possibly Florida. Bama is a trainwreck right now and Simpson is trash. Vanderbilt? Not buying it. Pavia is a dink and dunk QB and was completely smothered by us last year.

However, UGA's offense looked like they experienced a drop off in the playoffs without Beck. Will Gunner improve as a passer? I have no idea and don't know what to expect from the UGA offense this year.

Oklahoma's offense on the other hand could be a problem with that transfer QB. Could be really good but they looked a bit underwhelming against their cupcake opponent score wise especially.

Florida? I'm just really not buying DJ Lagway and Sunbelt Billy on offense.

John Mateer throwing for almost 400 yards to 9 different receivers in his debut was underwhelming to you?

I'm not sure what to think about that because of the opponent. What happened with the score? Played backups the entire second half or so?

Oklahoma is definitely potentially dangerous, but impossible to know from that game.

It is our defense in question. Lagway games played in we had a decent offense. Geirgia is loaded eith 4,5 star recruits and a proven coach so they will be fine offensivel, etc
Syracuse offense is not close to the hsrdest you will play. You should easily handle them

You will see when you come to the Swamp. Starting to think the TN@ FL game might be for a playoff spot.

Going to laugh when we find out Syracuse is a 7-5 team and y’all get hyped for nothing.

I would love that scenario as it would feel like the 90s again but you guys have a brutal schedule.

South Florida and FSU are both going to be tough games and that's not the heavy part of your schedule just the beginning.

South Florida completely obliterated a ranked Boise State team this past week and is led by Alex Golesh the Tennessee offensive coordinator from our 2022 offense and looked the part. Same tempo and aggressive on defense as well.

I mean he did say that Oklahoma was a notable offense and maybe one of the best offenses on the schedule.

You can expect us to mop the floor with the Volunqueers when we show up in Knoxville in a few weeks for our annual prison-raping.

Gees Whiskey, the title of this thread was almost enough to make me not read all of that nonsense, but just wanted to see if you had not lost your touch as being the most idiotic Vol poster on here...and of course, you haven't.

Doubtful. Fran is a great coach and they were elite on offense last year and had an excellent transfer class this year. Angeli will put up big numbers in that system this year. I was nervous about this game at the end of last year after watching most of Cuse's games. Not your average ACC pushover. Tough and physical run blocking team as well.

If I’m an OU fan and my 2m QB didn’t throw for 400 yards against a FCS team, I’d be really worried.

Like you did with Notre Dame?

The announcers put the UGA offense blast last night during the ND / Miami game saying that Beck was out to prove your offense and WRs were the problem not him.

Well he just backed up his words with a good victory over the same team that your new QB just lost to in very mediocre looking fashion.

The UGA offense doesn't look scary at all anymore without a legit drop back passer.

Maybe just maybe it was Stetson Bennett, Brock Bowers and Ladd that made that UGA offense look so good.

Said no one. Ever. In the entire history of college football.

Until you, I guess.

Yeah but it’s one game. Remember how this played out last year in the conference. Every week was a roll of the dice. It’s going to be like that again but even more chaotic as the bottom of the conference has gotten better. That’s the only take away from this weekend. Going to see a lot of 8-4 and 9-3. You might even see some “top” teams finish 7-5 due to the schedules being so brutal.

I'm willing to bet SEC had better skill players than Syracuse.

Their offense last season was most certainly more potent than the Gunner led version of the UGA offense.

7th ranked total offense in the country and number 1 passing offense.

You are downplaying them based on their name which is dumb because they have an elite staff up there and picked up a highly desirable QB in the portal as well as other key pieces.

Do you have Mehzouri?

They thrashed Central Heating and Air last week and were super pumped about it.
