The reaction is going to swing way too far the other way now.
The hype was ridiculous and unmerited but this is his first start against a real team and it’s in a hostile environment. Let’s give him a chance to grow.

Have you been watching him today?
He doesn’t look like he belongs on the field right now.
He has an elite offensive coach, an elite roster and he looks completely outmatched.

Usually I’d agree but it’s been hype with him for 5+ years now.
He threw for 206 ypg and completed 61% of his passes his senior year in high school. He played 2 games last year and he looked like shite in one and good in the other. Now he’s Heisman favorite and projected #1 player.

I really try to not be petty but what could possibly be the reason for his hype other than Peyton Manning being his uncle? He doesn’t have a great frame, his arm isn’t that good, his decision making isn’t that good, his personality is flat and he isn’t anything resembling a dog, and he just failed at a tush push because he’s soft and unathletic.
You see guys like Josh Allen when he was at Wyoming and just get it immediately but Arch looks like a high schooler playing QB at Texas
