Why isn’t BK held to the Les Miles standard?

I mean Les had a freaking national title in the bag. That would buy BK the rest of his life. Les reached another national title and had the unfortunate bad break of having to face bama again plus Les was there at the height of the GOATs powers. LSU might have 3-4 titles and fournette a heisman without saban. Yet bk can’t win the sec with Jayden daniels and took a 42-6 (13) beatdown to Bama at home which didn’t happen to Les and if it did he would be out the door that night. Not to mention Les was a lot more likeable. Yes BK takes mild internet heat but not Les heat

Les inherited a juggernaut and BK inherited a dumpster fire

I think part of it might be apathy to college sports in general.

Lol, both coaches inherited teams two years removed from national championships. Keep telling yourself it’s going to be ok with BK.

TrueLefty’s shift at Burger King doesn’t start until 1 PM so he’s sleeping in.

2003: 13-1 (7-1)
2004: 9-3 (6-2) - Hail Mary away from 10-2
Saban left the cabinets fully stocked and there was no transfer portal.
2020: 5-5
2021: 6-7
35 scholarship players were on the roster for LSU’s bowl game against KSU.
The fact that the program immediately jumped back to 10 wins his first two seasons is incredible.
The two situations aren’t comparable. BK literally had to rebuild the program. Les had to maintain cruise control at a time when Urban Meyer at Florida was really the only elite competition.
Since he began at LSU, BK has the Tigers third in SEC wins behind Bama and UGA after taking over a trainwreck.

Orgeron left BK with a messy dumpster fire. Total mess. 35 players on scholarship. The fact that he got to 10 wins was a miracle.

Mostly because Miles had already been there 10 years, had stacked talent, and still went .710 across his last three seasons.
That doesn't count him starting .500 in 2016 before being fired.
For comparison, BK took over a sub .500 team and is at .725.

Comparing the team Les took over to the team BK took over is like comparing a Ferrari to a Chrysler.
Les gets his credit but those were two completely different situations.

LSU hates defense with a purple passion.

They're trying to get it all out in case LSU messes around and has a good season.

Because LSU knows they if they fire BK then they wont' be able to attract another top candidate. They HAVE to give him his chance, or they will become a pariah school as far as coaching prospects are concerned.
