I'm going to say UGA. They don't ever have to leave their state ever.

I think LSU. The amount of underrated guys that go on to the NFL, in addition to the highly rated talent, is incredible for a state that size with no in-state recruiting competition.

Uga Texas lsu in that order.

1a) LSU
1b) UGA
2) Texas
none of these schools have to leave their state. Texas only has to compete with Aggie which isn't a big threat to them. Gators have to compete with Miami and FSU which is pretty tough.

It's UGA and it's not even close. If Texas won a little more and showed some more hard work and humility they could take over.

i was told Brian Kelly couldnt recruit so its gotta be LSU with how consistently the university has been able to recruit itself these top 10 classes

I thought about that but Tex really only has ou and atm to compete with that rely on Texas as it’s number 1 pipeline.
Uga still has to contend with tech usce Clem and barn who all rely heavily on Georgia. I still give the edge to uga but its close.

LSU, no other schools land such a high percentage of their in-state blue chip players. Plus the proximity to Houston

False, every SEC team raids Texas
Same with Florida and Mississippi

50% of GA's population is Atlanta, and the majority of those people are not native Georgians. Their parents came here from somewhere else, and they are raised Auburn fans, Florida fans, Tennessee fans, etc. So just because they were born and raised in the geography that is Georgia, many were also raised to be fans of another team.

Baw, Louisiana has 14 blue chippers in state this year. Georgia has 45.

UGA as long as they are winning. A couple bad seasons (to them) and suddenly having that many arrests becomes an issue.

This is a splitting hairs type proposition between several schools...
But the fact of the matter is that a school like Alabama or Auburn is in a great spot because while their own state isn't the best for recruiting... they are situated to where they are proximate to all the other SEC states.
Tuscaloosa is centrally located to all the recruiting hotbeds in the southeast save Miami (which isn't actually "close" to anywhere in the SEC) . They aren't that far from DMV...nor Texas.

I think it's LSU.
LSU is Louisiana. UGA may have more overall talent, but I think it's more easily poached by surrounding SEC schools. Georgia is a more "neutral" state despite UGA's dominance of it, it has no cultural distinctiveness to lock kids into UGA like LSU does.
I've always assumed LSU is very possessive about their in state talent which also adds to it. That's not unique necessarily (Arky comes to mind) but LSU has the rare blend of being a top tier program with a niche culture, a state to themselves and a, uh, hostile population that will likely apply pressure.

LSU and UGA I think get the nod here
Georgia
Atlanta Metro (6+ million): One of the most talent-rich areas in the country. Georgia can practically build an SEC title team from within a 100-mile radius.
In-state dominance: UGA gets first pick. Georgia Tech isn’t a serious recruiting threat.
Drawback: More in-state competition than LSU — Bama, Auburn, Clemson, and now FSU all actively recruit Georgia
LSU is in a prime recruiting position. They dominate in-state, where there’s less competition from other Power 5 schools, and Louisiana consistently produces top-tier talent. Just down the road, they’ve got access to Greater Houston — a metro of nearly 8 million, which is almost double the population of Louisiana itself. That proximity allows LSU to sell the “close to home” pitch to Texas recruits, especially those in East Texas and Houston. Add in regular success pulling talent from Mississippi and Arkansas, and LSU sits in a sweet spot geographically with limited in-state competition and fertile nearby territory.

We can quibble about the exact distance, but pretty much every SEC school has enough talent within 300 miles to win a title. It's just closing the deal.
In-state advantage seems to be less and less important these days except for LSU. The Cajun mafia will harass your mom at the grocery store and steal your dog if you go out of state.
