Controversial Book Suggestions
Posted by volod on 7/20/18 at 6:35 am12
I'm looking for books that meet the following
1 controversial in the past 10 years to present.
2 controversial in whatever time period they were written.
3 cover some form of uncomfortable subject matter or offer a perspective that's not a cliche heroes journey.

I’d recommend Out Of America
Black author who toured the African Continent and came away “grateful” his ancestors were slaves. In the sense that he is thankful to be here and not there.
Wonderfully written.
Full Title: Out of America: A Black Man Confronts AFrica
Author: Keith Richburg
Year: 1997
Author was a Washington Post correspondent.

Almost anything by Chuck palahniuk.
He wrote fight Club among others. Always odd subject matter but because the subject matter is odd, it can be really hit and miss at times.
Let me know if you want a recommendation.

Books by Dan Brown such as The Da Vinci Code and Angles and Demons. I don't know if the Catholic Church has a banned list these days but the flock has been warned about these books. To this day there is a framed letter displayed in St. Sulpice Church in Paris warning people that The Da Vinci Code is pure fiction and that they should not come in to the building looking for the Rose Line and other architectural features mentioned in the book. Dan Brown and his publisher couldn't buy that kind of publicity.

Black Fortunes: The Story of the First Six African Americans Who Escaped Slavery and Became Millionaires
Jan 30, 2018
by Shomari Wills
About as different as you can get about six individuals who were very different in how they made and sometimes kept their fortunes.
The book started as the author's work in a writing class. It's sort of unpolished, but the content shows a side of America that we will never see.

The Camp of the Saints was published nearly 45 years ago and remains one of the most prophetic works on the destruction of Western Europe due to third-world immigration.
