Why did Harvey Glance leave Auburn for Alabama?

Just curious. I'm reading Prof. Darch's biography of Mel Rosen right now and it comes up.

He was my coach and left right after I graduated. We talked quite a bit it last January at a clinic for the first time, but it simply boiled down to money. He was underpaid at Auburn and Bama came in with a good offer at the right time.
And Coach Rosen is an amazing man who had at huge impact on me, the little bit that he was around

I was mad at him for a long time because I didn't know all the facts. But he was one of the lowest-paid coaches in the SEC at the time.
Saw him recruiting at a HS meet in the early 2000s and he was wearing an Alabama watch
He said people ask all the time and he always tells them is was money and nothing more.

I recently saw him at a Brian Jordan celebrity fundraiser in Atlanta and he told me the same thing.
